In April, due to unforeseen circumstances, the birthmother we were originally matched with decided to keep her baby that would be due in June. We closed the door to the nursery and hoped to be matched again soon. The months went by and because my father became very ill, we placed our hopes of a new match on the shelf and concentrated on getting my father well. However, my father's health worsened and he passed away that June.
The following Saturday was the funeral. Family and friends were at our home until late afternoon. My husband and I had just settled down on the couch to contemplate the day. That’s when we got a call from ANLC. Our Birthmother Advisor told us, if we were ready, there was a little baby boy for us!
You can just imagine the range of emotions that went through us at that moment. People call it the "Circle of Life". One life leaves this earth while another comes in. I know my father picked out this happy little boy and sent him from heaven to fill our lives with so much love.
Thank you so much for everything. The entire staff at ANLC was just wonderful throughout the entire process.
