DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!
After experiencing our highest highs to the lowest lows in our quest to begin our family together, our family is complete with total thanks to Adoption Network Law Center!!
Our journey began in 2001. We had decided to start IVF cycles because I have severe endometriosis. We completed 4 cycles, and were beginning to feel like it will never work when we discovered I was pregnant!! To add to our joy, we found out that it was twins, a boy and a girl! We were on cloud nine! I had a relatively easy pregnancy at the beginning, I had the glow!! Then, at 22 weeks, I went into labor. Our world came crashing down around us. This can't be happening. We tried so hard to get pregnant, why this?? The doctors tried to stop the labor, but I was already dilated. I knew my little angels were not ready for this world yet. I gave birth to my son and daughter at 23 weeks; I was able to hold them as they passed away in my arms. I thought I would never get to be a mom, and I missed my babies so much!
After mourning our babies and some soul searching, we decided adoption was the best decision for us. I was never skeptical or nervous. I knew adoption was our answer. We retained ANLC in August 2005 and everyone was great! They answered my millions of questions with a smile in their voice! In less than 7 months, we got the call that changed our lives forever! There was a birthmom who chose us. We couldn't believe it! She was so great! We flew to Texas to meet her the next week and we hit it off great! She told me that there was a reason she got pregnant and she knew she was carrying my son. She said it happened so I could be a mom. My eyes welled up just hearing those words. We kept in touch, and I called her once a week to see how she was feeling and if she needed anything. We developed a close relationship. She went into labor in June and we were there for the birth of our son. I cried tears of joy as I witnessed his birth and heard his first cry. I cut the cord then took hundreds of pictures as he was getting cleaned off. He's perfect!
We owe everything to the wonderful staff at ANLC! Ellen Edman held our hands through this wonderful journey and was there every step of the way. She assured us that God had a plan for us. I never had any question our match was anything but perfect.
Thanks to the wonderful work you do, our family is complete and we have our happy smiles back on our faces again!
