- An Adoptive Parent's profile is shown to prospective Birthparent(s) across the nation. Adoption Network Law Center spends tireless hours reaching out to prospective Birthmothers on behalf of Adoptive Parent(s).
Adoptive Parent(s) Profile
At Adoption Network Law Center, an adoptive parent's commitment to providing a warm and loving family is what counts, there are no arbitrary principles regarding:

Birthmothers should be applauded for their unselfishness, contentment with their decision and for the satisfaction they display in knowing they have chosen a wonderful family to provide their baby with a stable life. This unselfishness began with the Birthmother’s loving desire to see to it that her baby is given the best.
However, waiting for the right Birthparent(s) can be more challenging if the Adoptive Parent(s):
- Already have many children
- Are over the age of 50
- Have limited financial support for a Birthmother
- Have a nontraditional lifestyle
- Will only adopt a specific gender
- Are extremely particular about a Birthmother’s appearance or lifestyle
The typical Birthmother usually:
- Is in the last trimester of her pregnancy
- Is typically in good health and may have had some prenatal care
- Does not use drugs or alcohol and she tests negative for HIV and Hepatitis C
- Is usually between 18 to 30 years of age
- Is often already parenting at least one other child, and has little financial or emotional support
- Is nervous about the adoption process and concerned what the child will think of her for choosing adoption
- Has a goal to find a stable family to love her baby forever. The thought of foster care frightens her
- Fears that the Adoptive Parent(s) will back out of her adoption plan. Be understanding and supportive of the anxiety that may result from this fear
