Eric and Maggie
Dear Birthmother,
We want to thank you for being the wonderful person you are in taking good care of yourself and your baby. Although we can only imagine what you have gone through in the many months since your doctor informed you of your pregnancy, we can tell you that we absolutely know the incredible blessing of adoption firsthand. Our lives were blessed in 2003 when we adopted a little angel named Meghan. She has filled our home with more love, joy and energy than we ever imagined and we have come to realize that she would love to have a little brother or sister to share the love and fun of our family with. We want to thank you for taking the time to read our letter and want you to know that we will always be grateful to you should you choose us to parent your child. We pray that you will always stay safe and have a happy life.
Our names are Eric and Maggie and we have been married for ten years. We are healthy and exercise regularly and we don't smoke, drink, or use drugs. We built a new home a few years ago. It has three bedrooms, a family room, a living room, a kitchen, a library, two baths, a basement, and a two-car garage. The dining room overlooks the beautiful grazing land around our property.
We live in the country on a farm with many animals. We have a horse, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, and kittens. We live in an excellent school district; the same one Eric graduated from a number of years ago. After moving from a city school to this country school, Eric earned a 3.8 grade point average, participated in sports, and became involved in many other school functions. Maggie graduated from an adjoining country school district and earned a 3.5 grade point average. She competed in volleyball, and excelled as a business major.
Eric earned his associates degree from college and has been employed in a medical facility for over 15 years. Both of his parents live near by and we get together often. Eric’s hobbies include collecting sports memorabilia, golf, basketball, watching football, and fishing. Maggie has taken some college courses, and works in the telecommunication field. She likes to spend her spare time sewing, canning, embroidering, and in the garden. We enjoy spending time together as a family and love picnics, gardening, sporting events, zoo trips, fairs and festivals. We all enjoy watching movies or cartoons together next to our warm fireplace. We are actively involved in our local church and have participated in the Last Supper Drama, the choir, youth activities, and as greeters. Eric has been a server for about 14 years and Maggie is involved with watching the children's nursery.
We are committed to giving our child a quality education, encouraging activities in sports, FFA, band, and any other interests he or she may have, as well as the opportunity to be involved in church activities such as children’s programs and church camp. We have been very blessed with many things in our lives. Having another little baby around to love and help grow could only perfect our happy family.
We hope that you will entrust us in the parenting of your child,
Eric and Maggie
