Kevin and Laura

Dear Birth Mother,

Our lives have been forever blessed by the gift of family that we’ve been granted through adoption. Thanks to the love and kindness of wonderful birthparents, we were blessed in 2004 when we adopted our son Dylan. He has filled our home with more love and joy than we ever imagined possible. We appreciate that you would consider blessing us with the most precious gift of another child, fulfilling our dream of growing our family. If you honor us with this opportunity, we make this promise to your precious child: We have longed for you for years. All of our lives, choices have been made with you in mind. With each passing year we will continue to celebrate the extraordinary gift your mother gave to us. We promise you all that we have…a life filled with love, support, fun adventures and opportunities.

We grew up in the same neighborhood and met while juniors in college. We have been happily married for 13 wonderful years. We are practicing Catholics and will raise a child in our faith. Kevin possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and is employed as an accountant. Laura has earned Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Nursing as well as a Master’s degree in Science. Laura is employed one day a week as a nurse. She plans to become a stay at home mom when the baby arrives. We are fortunate to be financially secure and able to provide children with numerous opportunities for rewarding experiences.

We reside in a 4-bedroom colonial home in a lovely suburban neighborhood in New Jersey. It is a nice sized property with a fenced in yard large enough for children to run and play. We have 2 Cocker Spaniels named Casey and Brady who are friendly, loving, and gentle. On our tree-lined street there are many young children playing on the block. We live within walking distance to town, shops and the local park. Quality education is important to us and our school system is one of the best in the state. The grammar school is located 2 blocks away.

We enjoy playing and reading with our son Dylan, taking family vacations, getting together with friends and family and going to the swim club. We spend a great deal of time at our summer home at the beach. Laura is outgoing, intelligent, warm, and nurturing with a great sense of humor. Laura’s hobbies include gardening, swimming and spending time at the beach, taking walks in the park, reading, listening to music and home decorating. Kevin is calm, patient, intelligent, hard working and fun. Kevin likes to play golf and softball, watch sports, read and work around the house. Dylan is a loving, friendly, happy and active little boy with a smile and laugh that lights up the room. He loves to play with other children and will make a wonderful and loving big brother.

Family is important to us. We both come from loving families who have instilled in us strong values and traditions. Holidays especially bring us a great deal of joy. Spending time with our son Dylan as well as young nieces and nephews is especially fun whether its coloring Easter eggs together, or the annual tradition of Laura’s older brother dressing up as Santa on Christmas Eve to distribute their gifts, as well as our 4th of July barbeques.

We hope that this letter has given you a glimpse into our lives and hearts. As with our adoption of Dylan, we know that God will guide this process also, as it is meant to be. Please know that your child will know how he or she came into our lives and we will always tell this child about the great, selfless love that brought him or her to us. Thank you again for considering us for the most precious gift you can give. May God bless you.
