Axel and Emily
To a brave and thoughtful woman who cares:
We have been happily since October of 1995. For years we tried to have a family, including a lot of fertility treatments, with no success. But that couldn’t stop us from pursuing our dream of having a family of our own.
We have family and friends who have adopted, and we have also succeeded in adopting. On July 3rd, 2003 our dream of starting our family came true. Emily was a birth coach for a 15-year-old Birthmom who bravely gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Our Birthmom spent some time with her newly born son, and then, the next day, managed to do the bravest thing she might ever be asked to do. She gave her baby boy to us to raise and love and adopt as our own. We named him Peter.
Every month after that, until his first birthday, we sent lots of pictures and a letter to let her know how things were going. We still send pictures every couple of months, and write emails back and forth. She’s an honors student and plans to go to college. We’re hoping to attend her graduation from college someday.
Our son, Peter is a very social little boy. He loves other kids and babies and will make a great big brother. He has so much fun with his cousins, Gianna and Michael (Emily’s brother’s kids) and Jonah (Axel’s brother’s little boy). He also adores his cousins, Martina and Fabbrizio (Emily’s cousin’s kids).
We live in the Midwest. Axel is a physicist at a National Laboratory, while Emily is an attorney and consultant to the food industry. She works out of our home and has a flexible schedule. Since Peter was born, Emily has remained at home almost exclusively and works out of a home office. Emily adores being a stay at home mommy; and loves to cook. At the same time, Axel’s schedule, working as a scientist, is rather flexible. Axel controls his own hours and can take time off when the need arises.
We live near a lake and a beautiful park next to a zoo. We bike and walk along the lake. We belong to the zoo and local museums and visit them often. Peter loves to ride on the back of Daddy’s bike. There’s room on the back of Mommy’s bike for a little brother or sister. More importantly, there’s lots of room in our hearts for another baby. There is also room in our hearts for the brave and special woman who makes this possible for us.
Our life has truly been blessed with our beautiful son. We would love to have another angel come to earth and be a part of our family.
Warm wishes,
Axel and Emily
