Paul and Peggy

Dear Birthmother,

We all have dreams of how beautiful a childhood could be. Our dream is full of laughter and ice cream, sunshine and daydreams, lullabies and sweet dreams. Maybe you are trying to make a choice about the future for your baby. With open hearts we are waiting to bring a baby into our family. Could our dreams be united by the miracle of this child?

We are Paul and Peggy. We both grew up in Los Angeles but met in San Francisco in 1998 while cooking meals for residents of a homeless shelter. It still amazes us that we each drove to the shelter that day nine years ago with the thought of giving to others and found each other. We share memories of growing up in Los Angeles – memories of Disneyland, sunny beaches and palm trees, childhoods with brothers and parents who made us feel loved. Now we have a fun life together in Northern California surrounded by hills covered with redwood trees and beautiful views of San Francisco Bay. Aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins are still just a quick road trip away down in LA!

A little more about us: Paul works at a local university physics laboratory. He loves mountain biking, music and photography. Above all, Paul is a loving husband and an amazing father. He cherishes our son Samuel and looks forward to another baby. Before Samuel was born Peggy worked as a counselor helping women overcome trauma. It was very meaningful work, and someday she hopes to return to it, but for now, she wants to be home with her family. Peggy still works a few hours each month as a professional puppeteer, performing shows at libraries and special events. She loves having a hundred children singing and laughing with her, but the most fun is when Paul sometimes stops by one of her performances with Samuel and they join in, too! Peggy also loves bringing her guitar to Samuel's nursery school and singing with the children.

When we bought our home in 2001 we chose the perfect place to raise our family. Our house is filled with laughter and music. It has big, bright windows and space for children to play, but what we love most about it is the location. Our town is a friendly, family oriented community with beautiful parks and highly rated schools. We are on a small cul-de-sac where it’s safe for children to ride their bicycles and create chalk drawings on the pavement. But best of all, outside the windows of our house all we see is our beautiful garden, treetops full of wild birds and squirrels chasing all around!

In 2003, with the help of fertility treatment, our son Samuel was born and every day with him has been a joy to us. Samuel is a gentle, loving child who is charmed by the baby brothers and sisters of his pre-school friends. He loves to touch their tiny toes and help soothe them when they fuss. Sometimes Samuel wonders when a baby might be coming to live with us. We cannot wait to tell him that a baby will be coming soon!

In our family you can be sure your child would be cherished with the deepest love. Know also that your child would always hear about you – about the brave, loving woman who carried her for 9 months. We are grateful to you for considering us as the family for your child. Whichever path you choose, we wish you blessings, love and peace.
