Dear Birthmother,

We have anticipated having children for a long time and after seeking the advice of an infertility specialist have turned towards adoption. We have become closer as a couple through this journey and have come to understand that the birth of a child is truly a miracle. Your child will have a wonderful life in a safe, secure and loving environment. The child you place for adoption, our first child, will be the greatest gift you will ever give. 

We met each other about 19 years ago at work and became mere acquaintances. It was not until we went to a co-worker’s birthday party that the “sparks flew” and we realized we were perfect for each other. We were engaged two months later and were married the following year in May of 1990. Our lives have been filled with much love and we are anxious to share that love with a child.

We enjoy spending time with each other, our friends, and our families. Family has always played a huge role in our lives. We spend many weekends together with them, cooking, entertaining, and attending their extracurricular activities. Our oldest nephew plays baseball, football and basketball and we attend numerous games to cheer him on. We have always been involved in his sports and choir concerts, and often take him to college and professional sporting events. Even though our two nieces are in their 20’s, we spend a lot of time with them, as well.  Tim’s sister just had a little boy at the beginning of April and we enjoy seeing the changes in him as he gets older. We look forward to the day we can watch our child and our little nephew play together. We also have a great dog named Dixie, who’s a special part of our family. She is a Sheltie and is very playful. 

We live in a quiet established community with many young families. We have a 3 bedroom home that has a fenced in backyard. In the summer we spend a lot of time outdoors working in the yard, gardening or just sitting on the deck. There are many parks and playgrounds nearby and we live in an excellent school district.

Tim works in the service department of a car dealership and Karen is a production manager for a mortgage company. We both love our jobs and have been with our companies for 11 and 20 years, respectively. We both enjoy vacations whether it is to a cabin up north or traveling out of state. Some of our favorite trips have been to California, Arizona, Washington DC and Florida. We love to sightsee, go to the zoo, take hikes and lay on the beach. We have attended many band concerts, dance recitals and competitions. Karen took jazz, tap and ballet for over 10 years and performed in dance recitals and competitions. Tim performed in a men’s group for a few years.

We are impressed by the love and courage you are showing in placing your child for adoption. We are committed to each other and promise to love your child as our own.
