Nickname(s): Pepe and Gladys
Dear Birthmother,
We are Pepe and Gladys. Placing your child for adoption is a challenging yet very courageous decision. We hope that you find peace and comfort in knowing that there are couples like us who would cherish the opportunity to become adoptive parents. As a family, we promise to offer a fun, loving and nurturing home to your child.
Pepe and I met 9 years ago at a museum fundraising event. Mutual friends introduced us as we had so much in common. It turns out that our friends were right! We’re both fun and loving individuals who share similar values and interests. We believe in building strong and lasting relationships, maintaining a close family and placing a high value on education. We also enjoy fun times; we’re involved in sports, and we participate in outdoor activities and cultural events. We share a dream to teach our children to enjoy life to the fullest, live to their full potential, and make positive contributions to our society.
Pepe is a true “rocket scientist”. He gets to work in cool space missions to learn more about our planet Earth and the other planets of our Solar System. Prior to this work, Pepe was a science professor at a university where he involved many of his students on science and technology projects. His passion for science has inspired many students to pursue fascinating careers. As for me, I used to be a high school Spanish teacher. While teaching, I decided to pursue a doctorate degree with the hopes of having a broader impact on education programs. As a result I became a professor and worked with student teachers by helping them to become more effective teachers at elementary, middle, and high schools. After several years of teaching, I decided to work for the Peace Corps. It was an amazing experience to travel throughout the world to places like Ecuador, Belize, and Slovakia and to have an opportunity to make a real difference in other people’s lives. Currently, I work at a training center for military personnel.
Pepe is involved in many outdoor activities and sports. He is an avid sailor, enjoys windsurfing, takes day-long trips in his kayak and also loves to snowboard. While I enjoy Pepe’s hobbies, my true passion is music. I play the piano every time I get a chance. I have been playing since I was 7 years old and hope to give lessons to our children someday. Even though we enjoy different hobbies, we really complement one another and always find time to spend together. Often we go on weekend road trips to visit our families as well as travel to cool and interesting places such as Florida’s Everglades National Park, the largest subtropical wilderness reserve in the US. We find traveling both enjoyable and educational and hope to share this experience with our children. We have many loving relatives who are also very excited for us to become parents and to visit regularly.
Every evening Pepe and I go for walks with our dog, a rescued Spaniel. It is a joy to watch her play and run freely, especially as she chases birds! We think she may fly someday! She is a great dog who loves children. All of the neighborhood children always come to our home and play with her! We also have two beautiful cats, which we also rescued from the animal shelter.
Pepe and I consider ourselves very fortunate individuals as we were raised by loving, close-knit families who helped us fulfilled all of our dreams. Someday soon we hope to share our love with a child just like our parents did.
Love,
Pepe and Gladys
