Greggory and Miranda

Dear Birthmother,
 
Givers of hugs, bandagers of scraped knees, destroyers of monsters under beds, listeners of problems, supporters of dreams: these are the things we desire to be to a child.
 
We are Gregg and Miranda, and we feel so appreciative that you are taking the time to peer into our lives. For us, adoption is our first choice, it’s what we want. Adoption has always been in my heart. Sometimes God tells you to adopt by allowing infertility, and sometimes he just writes it upon your heart (as in our case). When I met Gregg and he was totally open to the idea, I knew I had found my soul mate. We fell head over heels in love and married in June 2005. We are both avid readers. Although I would have never thought it possible, I like to cook. (Sometimes Gregg even helps!) Working in the yard is also something we do together. I love my daylilies and roses!

We are both teachers in a fairly small community. I teach 6th grade math to children with learning disabilities. Gregg teaches 8th grade history, and coaches football, basketball and track. We are looking forward to having summers off to vacation, relax and enjoy a lot of quality time with our child. During the school year we plan to use residential care that is down the street from Miranda’s school.
 
God and family are the focal points of our lives. We fully believe in God’s unfailing love and plan to raise our child in a Christ-centered home. Both of our families live within 10 minutes of our home, and we see them often at family get-togethers. They are excited and cannot wait for a new addition to our family.
 
We are blessed with a lovely three bedroom home in a family-centered neighborhood. Our backyard is spacious enough for any kind of activity, and we have a nursery just waiting for our little one. Our community has so many fun things to do! There are water parks, amusement parks, children’s theatres, zoos, aquariums, and much more just a few miles from our home.   
 
About Gregg (according to Miranda): The moment I met Gregg I knew he was the one for me. It wasn’t love at first sight, but somehow I knew I would grow to love him. He is the most respectful, loving, gentle and unselfish man I have ever met. He always puts my needs ahead of his own. When I am sick, he takes care of me…even when it means getting a 7Up at 3 in the morning! I can’t wait to see Gregg as a father. I watch him with the kids he coaches and am often in awe of how well he communicates with them. I know he will be an amazing dad.
 
About Miranda (according to Gregg): For me it was love at first sight with Miranda. When she told me about her desire to adopt, I was all for it and couldn’t wait for the day that we would have a child. Miranda is so generous with her family, friends and students. She has the type of caring nature that allows her to put everyone’s needs above her own. I know that she will be an awesome mother because of the way she interacts with our young family members when they visit our house for family get-togethers. She is always telling me about the trips we are going to take with our child, and how dedicated she will be to the education of our child. I just can’t wait to see Miranda in “mother-mode.”
