Eric and Shannon

Dear Birthmother,

 

As we sit down to write this letter, words can not express what we are feeling right now.  We can only say THANK YOU for reading this and hope we are the family you choose to make all of your dreams for your child come true. 

 

Eric and I have been together for eleven years and married for almost nine.  We have always known we wanted to be parents, and with your help we promise to give all of ourselves to be the best parents possible.  Your child will always know they are loved and will want for nothing. 

 

Eric and I are truly best friends.  We have worked hard in our careers and in building our life and home.  However, our home and life are not complete without being able to share it with children.  We both have wonderful families who support us in everything we do.  Shannon’s family cannot wait to have their first grandchild, you can be sure they will be spoiled! On Eric’s side of the family, this child we be the youngest of five grandchildren, again a situation that will assure a lot of attention. 

 

Eric is a high school principal.  We met when he was teaching high school Science and also coaching a basketball team.  I was helping out the cheerleading squad at the high school and couldn’t keep my eyes off the coach!  We started dating and knew within a short amount of time we were meant to be together.  We shared so many values and dreams in common.  One of those was to have a family.  We have always worked hard for everything we have achieved and the one thing we can not accomplish, without your help, is to have a child.  For this gift we are eternally grateful. 

 

Eric and I live in a four bedroom home that is large enough for many children and their friends.  It is located in a cul-de-sac, where many of the neighborhood children find it safe to play away from traffic.  We are in walking distance to the elementary school and a neighborhood park.  We also have a nursery all ready and waiting to be filled with the sounds of laughter and nursery rhymes. 

 

Eric and I love being together.  We enjoy going to Disneyland at least once a year. To us it truly is the “happiest place on earth”.  We cannot wait to see it through a child’s eyes.  We love having quiet family evenings by making a good dinner and watching movies, or enjoying a fire in our fireplace.  One of our weekend adventures, when the weather is nice, which is nine months out of the year in Arizona, we love to go on bike rides and stop to have breakfast or lunch along the way.  

 

It is hard to tell you everything about ourselves in a short letter, but we hope to get the opportunity to tell you everything you want to know and more and to find out as much as possible about you.  Words can not express the gratitude that we feel towards you and you will always be in our hearts and minds.  We hope to be able to tell your child all about you when they are ready, to let him or her know what a truly special woman their birthmother is.  From the bottom of our hearts we again thank you and hope that we have shown you in this short letter that we will be the right parents to raise your baby.
