David and Cherie
Nickname(s): Ray and Cherie

 Dear Birthmother,

Hello!  We are aware of the difficult choice you are in the process of making right now. We are very proud of you for already making the choice of life. We believe that sometimes the most difficult decisions you make can be a huge sacrifice for you, but the most loving for someone else. We were reminded of the story from the Bible of the two women who claimed to be the baby’s mother, and the king ordered the baby to be cut in half.  He was going to give each woman half of the child.  Then the real mother spoke up for her child’s life.  The following verses from the Bible tell the outcome: The woman whose son was alive was filled with compassion for her son and said to the king, “Please, my lord, give her the living baby!  Don’t kill him!”  Then the king gave his ruling: “Give the living baby to the first woman.  Do not kill him; she is his mother.”  (1 Kings 3:  26-27)  We know it must have been difficult to choose adoption, but it is sometimes the most loving choice a good mother can make.

We are David and Cherie, and we are blessed to have this opportunity to tell you a little about our family.   We were united in marriage on August 3, 2007 in Maui, Hawaii. David has enjoyed joining Cherie and her three sons from a previous marriage to form a new family.   David has never had children, and Cherie is unable to have more children.  Therefore, we would love the opportunity to share the joy of raising a child together to make our family complete.

After we were married, we custom built our dream home that provides plenty of space for our family.  Our home consists of five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, which provides everyone with their own space.  We have already prepared the nursery for a new baby.  We live in a small, quiet neighborhood that has several families with young children.  The neighborhood is a very safe place for families to take walks and for children to play.

We live our lives on the foundation that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.  We are very active members of our Church, and we enjoy serving the Lord in various ways.  Cherie enjoys teaching third grade at the elementary school in our community. However, she plans to stop teaching and stay at home with the new baby because we want the best for our child.   David has become very skilled in the field of utility services.  His income and wise investments has made him financially stable.

When we are not working or involved with Church activities, we enjoy spending quality time with each other and our family.  Our family enjoys playing board games, putting puzzles together, playing basketball, softball, kickball, going bowling, miniature golf, going to the park, or just walking in our neighborhood.

We appreciate you for taking the time to read our letter.  We hope you will consider allowing us to raise your child in a loving Christian home.  We promise to provide this child with a good life that is safe, secure, nurturing, and filled with laughter.
