Dear Birthmother,
We are all faced with difficult decisions in our lives, but we cannot imagine a more difficult and courageous one than the choice you have made for adoption. Please know that even though this is one of the most difficult decisions of your life, you are also providing a great blessing to the adoptive parents. We hope that this letter will provide you with the information you need to make your decision and help you understand how much we want a baby to love and care for and develop into a wonderful person.
We have been married for eleven wonderful years and are still going strong. Our love and common values for faithfulness, family, honesty, hard work and education have been the driving forces for our relationship. We are very happy with the lives with which we have been blessed. We both have had the benefit of advanced degrees, good jobs, financial security and a beautiful home; but most importantly, we have been blessed with supportive families, great friends, good health, big dreams, charitable spirits and lots of laughter in our home. The only thing missing is a child to love and nurture and share in these many gifts.
We live in suburban community that is extremely family oriented. It has parks, libraries, skate rinks, movie theatres, shopping malls, restaurants, and many of our friends and family. Since we always knew we were going to have children, we bought our house with that in mind. Built in 2000, it is a spacious 3,400 square foot home with an open kitchen and living room for entertaining, a large loft for games and family time, and five bedrooms. We already have the baby room picked out, and we can’t wait to start decorating it. It is a lovely home equipped with an outside pool and spa. The landscape has a tropical feel with lush flowers and palm trees.
We both enjoy our jobs. Scott is a consultant for a large software company and Ann is a Retail Director for a foodservice company. We both have executive level positions in great companies that are very family oriented. Since we work from home we will have a lot of family time, but also intend to have in-home child care. We feel it is the perfect combination of setting an example as being professionals, but also to be able to spend all sorts of special time together.
Even though we do not have children yet, our house is full of activity and gathering. One of our favorite activities is having people over, usually around a meal. This sharing time is our foundation for communication and forging great relationships with family and friends. We cannot wait to expose a child to a house full of love, affection and interaction. We have always openly discussed having children, but since we made the final choice to adopt, our friends and family are all very excited with anticipation. Rest assured this baby will be well cared for with loads of attention not only from us, but also from our enthusiastic and supportive extended family including grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
If you will consider us, be assured that we are committed to provide your child a home with unconditional love, affection, laughter and joy. We will do our best to teach, guide, listen, encourage interests, foster dreams, and help him or her grown into a wonderful human being.
