Dear Birthmother,

We are Ken and Shari.  We met through a mutual friend in 2001 and have been happily together ever since.  We married in 2007.  Ken has one biological child, who is 14 years old.  Her name is Wyatt, and she lives with us every other weekend.  She is so excited to meet her baby brother or sister.  We love Wyatt very much and are involved in her life as much as possible, however there are many day-to-day parenting moments we miss out on.  We desire the opportunity to enjoy all the wonderful experiences that parenthood brings. We have been blessed with a joyful and loving relationship, but we feel that our life won’t be complete until we have a child of our own.  We want to share all our love with a son or daughter.  Even our family and friends are anxiously waiting to love our baby, and to support us every step of the way.

Both of us work for local engineering companies, but we do different types of work.  Ken is a graphic designer and IT technician for a bridge and structural firm.  Shari is a civil engineer and designs public water and sewer systems for small communities. Shari plans on taking several months off once our baby arrives and will work part-time after that.

Our two-story home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is empty and is just waiting for our baby. We have a big fenced in yard that will be a perfect, safe place for our child to play in. Our house is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, in a quiet development that has a lot of friendly families. Many shops, grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance. We also live close to an excellent daycare center, the elementary school and the high school. 

Both of our families are extremely important to us, and we are very close with them. We talk and visit them both regularly. Fun, good food, family, and friends are always included in our get-togethers, holidays and vacations.  We also share our lives with our two Beagles, Mojo and Theo, who have brought a lot of joy and excitement into our home.

During our free time together we often go to sporting events, take our dogs for walks, ride our mountain bikes or remodel our home.  One of Shari’s favorite hobbies is creating abstract acrylic paintings on canvas.   She also enjoys gardening and cooking for family and friends.  Ken enjoys taking photographs of family occasions and vacations. He is very passionate about movies, watching them and learning about how they were made.

We know there will be both challenges and rewards that come with being parents, but we are ready for everything it takes to raise a little one. We have a tremendous amount of love for each other, we have supportive families, we have great friends, we have a warm, inviting home, and we have yearning hearts that are wide open, ready and eager to cherish your baby.
