Paul and Lynn

Dear Birth Mother,

We are Lynn and Paul, and we hope by writing this letter to you we can share a little bit about who we are, and you can get to know us in some small way. We are very thankful to have two sons through adoption.  We are hopeful that you will help our family grow once again with a beautiful baby girl.

We cannot begin to know or understand how you have come to your decision to make an adoption plan for your child, but we do know that it takes an enormous amount of love and selflessness to come to such a difficult decision.  If you choose us to be the adoptive parents of your baby, we would like you to know that we will give her all the love and care that she could ever want or need and that you could want for her.

We met each other through a blind date, and we knew after dating just a couple months that we had finally found the special person we had both been waiting for all our lives.  We got married the following year.  We both wanted very much to have children, and we decided if we weren't able to have a biological child, adoption would be just as wonderful.

Our home is in a nice neighborhood, not too far from Lynn's Mom and Sister.  When we were looking at houses, we really wanted to find one on a quiet street with wide sidewalks, close to schools and parks, and in a low crime neighborhood friendly towards families with children.

Lynn works two days a week as a nurse in a maternity ward at a hospital taking care of moms and babies.  She has been working as a nurse for nineteen years since graduating from college.  Some of the traits that make her good at her job are her listening skills, her compassion for others, and her strong work ethic.  She does everything she can to make sure that her patients have everything they need, are comfortable, and are well taken care of.

Lynn adores our sons and spends most of every day with them.  She is a warm and nurturing mother, who is always talking and singing with the boys and smothering them with hugs and kisses. When we are both working on the same day, Lynn's Mom baby-sits in our home. Lynn is very close to her Mom and Sister, and family has always been very important to her.  They visit often to play with the boys or join us for dinner.

Paul is the music director at a Catholic church. He has been teaching preschool through 8th grade music and directing the church choirs for over ten years. He comes home every day with funny stories about what the kids have done that day. Music has been a very important part of Paul's life since childhood.  Today, with his degree in music, he is still writing music, and playing and singing in a band at many festivals during the summer.

Paul is very close to his parents even though they live in Colorado.  He talks to them every day through e-mail or by phone, and they visit often.  We keep them updated on all the new things the boys can do and say.

We enjoy spending time as a family, whether we are at home, visiting with friends or family, or going to the playground.  We enjoy traveling and experiencing new things together, especially going to see concerts.  We also like planting flowers in our yard, picnicking, going for walks in our neighborhood and going to the zoo.

We have always wanted to have at least three children.  Now that we have our two beautiful boys we would love more than anything to add a baby sister to our family.  Lynn has always dreamed of having a baby girl.  Her dreams will have come true if you consider us to be your baby's forever family.  We are hoping that through adoption we will find her, love her and raise her in the best way we know how.  We hope you consider us as the perfect family for your baby.

Our prayers will always include you because we will thank God every day for the gift of the little child that you will place in our home.
