Dear Birthmother,

As we sit down and write this letter to you we begin this remarkable journey in meeting you. Words can’t describe how grateful we are for your selfless and admirable decision in choosing this path for the baby growing inside you. You are a very brave person who we admire very much. If you choose us as the parents of the baby that you are carrying right now we would be very blessed. That child would be loved, safe, adored, respected and provided for always. We are honored that you want to get to know us better as a couple and future parents.

Let us introduce ourselves to you. We are Robert and Kristan, and we are more then just husband and wife, we are best friends. Although we have been married since 1997, it feels just like yesterday when we began our life together as husband and wife. We are more in love now than we were on that special day. We truly enjoy each other’s laughter, company and inspiration. When you close your eyes, imagine yourself in our home. We have a very friendly home that is full of joy and laughter. When you enter our home you will see our love for family with family photos displayed. We love to cook and share good conversation over meals. We try to still follow many of the traditions that we grew up with, dying Easter eggs, decorating the Christmas tree and carving pumpkins.

Rob is a well respected law enforcement officer. He has received several awards and honors from his dedication to his job. He is always honest and ethnical which has gained him the respect of his fellow officers as well as the community in which he serves. He is a wonderful husband who can’t wait to be called a dad. Just talking about becoming a dad makes Rob beam from cheek to cheek. When we are with family his nephews can’t get enough play time with their uncle. He gets down to their level and enjoys playing with them. When Rob is not working, he loves to travel, go for motorcycle rides and play the guitar.

Kristan is an elementary school teacher. This is the job she has wanted ever since she was a little girl. She is a very dedicated teacher who never gives up on her students. She believes that each child is different and learns differently and therefore they each require a chance to shine. She is not only a remarkable role model for her students but for our nephews as well. They look up to her and enjoy spending time with her. Kristan will make a remarkable mother because she is full of patience and dedication and she just beams with excitement when a baby or child enters a room. When Kristan is not working, she loves to travel, go for long walks, bake and cook.

This is a new emotional journey for us as well. We have never adopted in the past nor do we have any children of our own. From the beginning of our relationship we always knew that we wanted to have children someday; however we have been unsuccessful in conceiving a baby. Although it has taken us many years to reach this point in our own journey, we know that adopting a baby would bring us so much joy and happiness, and would allow us to finally become a family.
