Troy and Amber

Dear Birthmother,

Hello. We are Troy and Amber.  We want you to know that we have a deep respect and admiration for your loving choice of adoption for this child.  Our belief is that children are miracles and we sincerely hope to share in this miracle with you. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. 

We met through our jobs in 2000, began dating in 2001, and have been married since May 2004.  We are deeply in love and still feel like newlyweds.  We knew right away that we had a lot in common.  Some of the first things we learned about one another were that we each believed in the importance of family and we both had a desire to be parents and raise children.  After trying unsuccessfully on our own for years, we are excited to be starting our family.  We believe adoption is part of God’s plan for our lives and look forward to this new experience. 

We truly are best friends and have so much fun together.  Some of our favorite things to do are traveling, watching college sports, spending time at the beach, going to amusement parks (we have season passes to Disney World), and taking long walks through the neighborhood.  We moved to Florida a year ago and love living in the Sunshine State.  We have a wonderful home with a pool.  The back of the house overlooks a lake where Troy enjoys casting his fishing line in the evening.  There is also a great playground in the neighborhood.  Our home is filled with love and affection.  We would always make sure that your child heard those three little words, “I love you” each day.  We believe Jesus is our Lord and Savior and are active members at church.

We moved to Florida for Troy’s job.  He is a program analyst working in the science and technology industry and loves being able to combine his business degrees with his passion for Space.  Outside of work, Troy loves being outdoors.  In his free time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, jogging, gardening, and beach activities.  We are very close with Troy’s family in Pennsylvania.  We visit each other often and take an annual beach vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC together.  Troy is already a fantastic uncle to our niece and nephews and he will be an amazing dad.

Amber works from home as a budget analyst for the government.  Working from home will allow her a lot of flexibility in order to spend time with a child.  She also has every other Friday off and is already dreaming up ideas for “mommy and me” days.  Amber loves to read and looks forward to tucking a child in for the night with a bedtime story.  She also likes to bake desserts (Troy loves chocolate), taking long walks in the neighborhood or on the beach, and taking pictures.  Amber is very close with her immediate and extended family.  Between our niece and nephew and Amber’s cousins’ children there are always lots of kids around when we visit her family in Virginia.  Holidays involve get-togethers at her grandmother’s house with over 30 people.

We feel lucky to have found each other and love the lives we are building together however our desire to be parents continues to grow.  Please be assured that we will love your child with all our hearts and be there to offer boundless guidance and support as they grow.  We are humbled by the hope that you may give us the biggest blessing of our lives.  God Bless.
