Hello,

We are Thomas (Jeff) and Kim and we would like to thank you for reading our letter.  We admire and respect you for the choice you are making.  This decision shows what a loving and unselfish person you must be. The child you place in our arms, and in our hearts, will be the greatest gift you will ever give and the thing we most desire in our lives.

We live in Virginia and between the two of us we have traveled to approximately 50 countries and have experienced many different cultures through our jobs and personal travel.  In fact, we met while we were both working in the Middle East in May 2003 at a Dutch sponsored Gala and have been together since that time (married in 2004).  We both knew we wanted children from very early in our relationship and discussed adoption prior to realizing we could not have children of our own.  To us, our priority was to grow our family and to have little ones to share our love and compassion.  To date, our yellow lab “Truman” has been the lucky recipient of all our love and attention!  Truman can’t wait for a little brother or sister.

We are a very athletic family (we are endurance runners – even Truman!).  We often gather with friends to go hiking, running, or just to watch sports.  We also enjoy traveling locally (around historically rich Virginia) and beyond (last year we went glacial hiking in Alberta, Canada), camping, reading, riding Jeff’s Harley, skydiving, cooking/baking and being with family.  We are fortunate to have a very large portion of our family located only a few towns away and we see them on a regular basis.  They are eagerly awaiting the expansion of our family and extremely supportive of our efforts to adopt a child.  We enjoy celebrating the holidays with our families and we know both of our parents are looking forward to celebrating future holidays with their first grandchild.

Jeff is one of those people that everyone gravitates towards; he is a dedicated and loving person who will be an excellent father. Jeff takes great pride in his military service and has had an exceptional and rewarding career. Kim is a Political Officer and has had a similarly successful career in her job for the last eight years after she obtained her Masters in Political Science.  Both of our careers allow us to travel the world and we hope to share these rich experiences with our children.  

We live in a large and homey four bedroom house located in a great neighborhood with numerous young children, dogs and friendly families.  There are numerous playgrounds, sports facilities and less then a half a mile is a fantastic local elementary school.  We are also fortunate to have a number of friends in the local area who have young children.  We have been trying to have a child since 2006 but after many doctor visits and years of trying we decided to move forward with adoption. The most important thing for us is to start a family, provide a child with unconditional love.  We will provide encouragement, understanding and guidance through life’s challenges.

We long to share all of the love we have in our hearts with the special little baby that comes our way.  We guarantee we will provide a brilliant future for any child we are fortunate enough to parent and love.  Thank you for taking the time to read about us.
