Hey there,

We are Dustin and Victoria from California and we are grateful that you are considering us as the adoptive mother and father of your child. Through this letter we hope to give you an idea of the life we hope to share with your child.

You must be very courageous and generous for ensuring the future of your child by considering adoption. We want you to know that if you choose us to be the adoptive parents of your baby, we will always put your child first and give unconditional love.

We will share a bit about ourselves, our traditions, our hobbies and more importantly, our values.

We met in 2010 and it was love at first sight. In 2012 we got married and it was one of the best days of our lives. We knew from the start that we wanted to have a big family. Dustin has a son from a previous relationship, so we are well on our way to our big, loving family. Things do not always work out the way you think they will and God had a much different plan for us. After many years of trying to conceive a child on our own, it began to weigh on our hearts that adoption was always meant for us.

We have many traditions in our family, one of which is starting to decorate for Christmas right after Halloween. It is Victoria’s favorite holiday; she thinks that it should have two months of celebration and not just one. We have Thanksgiving dinner at our house every year, with over 40 people joining us, from friends to family or anyone needing a warm meal. We’ve just recently started a new tradition when we bought our house that everyone who comes to Thanksgiving must decorate a tree ornament. It is cool to have so many ornaments hanging from your tree that are hand made by friends and family.

Dustin has many hobbies, from coaching our son’s flag football team to competing in CrossFit tournaments on the weekends. We are very active and love to be outdoors, from beach camping or just barbecuing at our pool, on a sizzling summer day.

The most important thing we want to share with you is how we plan to raise your child. Your child will always be given a hug and kiss before bed. We promise to always let them know how loved and special they are. We want to show them what challenging work is and help them grow into a strong, independent, and confident adult. We will teach them how to be kind to others, and that if they set their mind to something, they can accomplish anything. We promise to pick them up and wipe their knee when they fall off their bike. We promise to leave a glittery dollar under their pillow when they lose a tooth, and we promise to make sure they work hard so that they can get into a good college. We have so many hopes and dreams for your child and want to thank you sincerely for even taking the time to read our profile. We look forward to talking and meeting. God Bless.

With love,
Dustin and Victoria

Tell us about your home and neighborhood.

We live in a little community in Southern California. Our neighborhood has a ton of kids running around and having fun. We are one of the only houses that has a pool and Jacuzzi, so our house tends to be the hangout spot, especially during the summer time.

When you have a 3-day weekend, what you like to do?

We are a very active family, always doing something on the weekends. Friday nights we spend at the football field, where our eleven-year-old son plays flag football. Dustin is the head coach for his team, the Wolverines. Our dog JR is the team mascot, and the boys depend on him being at every game. On Saturday and Sunday, we are usually having a BBQ at our house or headed to the beach to have some fun in the sun.

What do you hope to teach your child(ren)?

We hope to teach our children to be kind and hard working. We want to teach our children that if they put their mind to something and do not give up that they could do anything. Family is so important to us, we want to make sure that our children understand the value of family and how important it is to stick together as a family.

What will you tell your child about his or her birthmom?

We plan to tell your child right away that they are adopted. We want to make sure they understand right from the start how loved they are by their Birth Mother. We feel it is so important that they understand the reasons behind their mother giving them up for adoption. We want to make sure they understand what a blessing they are to both us and their Birth Mother.

Are you active in your church? Tell us about your activities

We are not active in our church, but both believe in God and plan to teach our child about God and his grace. We do not believe that you must go to church in order to have a connection with God. We do not plan to push God or Church onto our child, we want to them to make that decision for themselves when they are older.

Describe your last vacation and/or daytrip.

Our last day trip that our family took was to Las Vegas. We were sitting around the house trying to figure out what we wanted to do for the day, when my husband said, “Lets drive to Vegas for two days." So, we hopped in the car and drove to Vegas where we had a blast. Our son was with us, so it was a very family-oriented trip. We went swimming at the resort and went to a few shows. One of my favorite parts about taking a road trip is all the cool stops along the way.

Will you be a stay-at-home parent? If so, what are your day-to-day plans?

We both work full time, but after the baby is born we plan on Dustin going to part-time so he can stay home with the baby. Being that Tory's job gives our medical benefits and the most stability, she plans to go back to work after her six weeks of paid maternity leave, given by the company. Since Dustin will still be planning on working part time, our neighbor will be watching the baby for a few hours, three times a week. She has kids of her own, so they are all so excited for a new baby in the neighborhood.

When you close your eyes and see yourself holding your precious baby in your arms, what are your thoughts regarding his or her birth mother?

When I ( Tory) close my eyes, I try an imagine how it will feel to be holding such a precious gift in my arms. I have been through so much heartache with trying to get pregnant that the thought of getting to be a mother gets me chocked up every time I think about it. I feel like my heart will be complete once I hold the child in my arms. I am beyond grateful to the Birth Mother for her sacrifice and selflessness. I will always hold her close in my heart and her child will know the love she has always had for him/her.
