Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for your brave choice. Having been adopted myself, we feel we have unique experience that we can use to care for your child especially well, since being an adoptee will bring up many emotions that will need to be met with empathy, unconditional love, nurturing, and patience. We also want to mention that we are not adopting because we can’t have children of our own, as we have a beautiful 2-year-old girl together. We are adopting because we feel it is God’s calling for us. We can’t wait to give your child the same wonderful opportunity I was given. We also want to make a few promises right up front. We promise to love your child as our own and to involve you as much or as little as you desire. We promise to provide your child with a loving family that will give them the opportunity to flourish beyond their dreams, and the opportunity to always be safe. The opportunity for the very best education, the opportunity to travel, and the opportunity to go to any college they want,. These are all promises we make to you and as you get to know us, you will know that we keep our promises.

We would like to share a little about our family. Mark and I (Monica) have been married for 7 years and have a wonderful relationship. We love to travel, eat, and spend time with our families. Both sets of parents live minutes away and love coming over and spending time together. My brother (adopted as well) and his wife and 3 young children, also live 5 minutes away. I also have a 20-year-old, who I had when I was much younger. He doesn’t live at home anymore, however, loves spending time with us, adores his little sister, and can’t wait for a new sibling. We feel blessed to be in the position we are in and want to give your child the opportunity to live a blessed life as well. Our family is a tight unit and it often feels like Christmas because we gather so often, eat good food, and share in our prosperity.

We live in a two-story house in sunny, Southern California. We specifically moved to our neighborhood because of the wonderful school system. We have a large kitchen where we love to make food for the whole family, a playroom for the children and a gated pool in the backyard where we love to barbecue in the summer. We live in a quiet cul-de-sac, so quiet that when the windows are open, all you can hear is the birds chipping and the neighborhood children laughing and playing. There are a few babies and toddlers who live in our neighborhood and more are on the way. Our neighborhood has many activities for children to get together and make friends. There are numerous parks nearby with large trees, ponds, ducks and great play equipment.

I love spending time with family, like to work out, and like to spend time with close friends. Mark loves to spend time with family, golf, and build stuff. Mark and I both have senior level positions in our careers and work from home and make our own hours. Often, we will visit our local aquarium, zoo, or park during the week because family is our number one priority. We also have a family friend who helps us watch our daughter, however we are just an ear shot away.

We will be praying for you to find us and thought we’d share one of our favorite verses: “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Q&A

Tell us about your home and neighborhood.

We live in a 4-bedroom, single family home on a cul-de-sac, in a great neighborhood community, a few miles from the beach. Our house has plenty of space for little ones to grow and has a pool, which is gated and secured. We live in one best school districts and have plenty of well-kept parks nearby.

When you have a 3-day weekend, what you like to do?

We usually stay close to home and spend time with our extended family. We also like to go to the beach, find great places to eat, and go for hikes or outdoor adventures.

Do you have pets? If so, tell us about them.

We have a sweet, small dog named Chip. He’s about four years old and is the most patient and loving dog we’ve ever had.

What do you hope to teach your child(ren)?

We will teach them the importance of good values, of giving back to others, and of unconditional love. We are also strong believers of education and will support them unconditionally so they can become anything they want to be.

What will you tell your child about his or her birthmom?

I will tell them that their mom made an incredibly difficult decision by giving them up so they could be provided the best opportunities in life.

Are you active in your church? Tell us about your activities.

Yes, we attend church regularly. Our church has a great youth program and offers fun activities for families, along with the spiritual support to keep us rooted in love.

How will a child enrich your life?

Children fill your heart and add purpose to your life. They are an investment in time, energy, love, and help us grow as individuals as we demonstrate patience, compassion, and leadership. It also gives us an opportunity to show our children those behaviors (and others good behaviors) so they can become great individuals.

Describe your last vacation and/or daytrip.

Our last trip was to Australia and it was a wonderful experience. We visited Melbourne, Sydney, and Hamilton Island and saw landmarks such as the Great Barrier Reef and the Sydney Opera House. We also got to enjoy amazing foods we’ve never eaten before and got to pet adorable native animals, like kangaroos and koalas.

Will you be a stay-at-home parent?

No, both of us will continue to work, however we will be working from home and will be around during the day. Additionally, we currently have a wonderful nanny that helps us with our daughter and will continue to help us with our newest bundle of joy. Both of us have flexible work schedules will be constantly available to enjoy time with them.

Will you be returning to work? If so, describe your day-care plans.

As mentioned above, we would return to work, but would be working from home, so will be around a lot!

When you close your eyes and see yourself holding your precious baby in your arms, what are your thoughts regarding his or her birth mother?

We feel extremely thankful for the amazing choice their mother has made. She chose life and because of that, we get to pour all of our love into a precious baby. Their mom can be assured that all her desires for her child will be provided and that we will give them a loving, financially stable, safe home with the opportunity to become anything they want to be in life.
