Dear Expectant Mom,
As I start to write this letter, I realize that I don’t know who you are, where you are, or even your name, but the mere fact that you are reading my letter gives me hope, and knowing that you’re taking the time to get to know me a little bit more makes me feel so very grateful. I’m humbled by your courage and strength in taking this difficult step. Entrusting your child to be raised by someone else is the most selfless act of all, and it requires bravery, honesty and, above all, an undeniable love for your baby. I’m extremely honored that you are considering me as an adoptive parent for your child.
One of the most important blessings in my life is my family. We are extremely close. I enjoy being an aunt and have given my nieces and nephews all my love. I have made a point of spending time with them since they were born and have happily shared in their upbringing. To be further blessed, I hope you can help make my dream comes true, and that they soon have a new cousin to welcome into our family. I can close my eyes and I can clearly picture your child playing and laughing with his or her cousins.
At this moment of my life, I am ready to parent a child on my own. I can provide a stable and loving home and I want to experience the joy of having a son or daughter and give your child an amazing life, full of unconditional love and opportunities. I look forward to sharing the life lessons I received from my parents and which I have always treasured: hard work, dedication, loyalty and generosity.
I promise your child will have a beautiful home, full of love and laughter. I will strive to provide him or her with important educational opportunities and will aim for him or her to become a caring person, one who is open to diversity and inclusion.
I want to thank you for the bottom of my heart for considering me!
Claudia
I live in a lovely home in Texas in a very nice, safe neighborhood. My neighborhood is very quiet but has easy access to everything - stores, parks, movie theaters, schools, etc. It has nice walking lanes and lakes close by.
If I can, I tried to take a quick trip. It can be to some place in the USA that I don’t know, or I try sometimes to go back home to Peru or visit my brother and his family in Ohio. If a trip is not an option, I will plan to stay home and do different activities in town. Most likely I'll go see movies, and if my nieces and nephews can join me even better!
I would like to teach my children what my parents taught me: • That everything that you receive in one hand, you should pass it to the other hand and give it to others. That everything you receive, if you don’t share it, it is not worthy. • That hard work, dedication and perseverance help you become a better person and will always have a reward and recognition. They taught me this not only with their words, but with their actions, and I want to do this too.
I will tell them that their birth mom was a very brave and selfless person. That with the act of placing him/her for adoption she: Gave me the most beautiful gift someone can have Gave him/her chances and opportunities she couldn’t provide
Some of the most precious things in my life are my nieces and nephews. I spend as much time as possible with them and they make me so happy when I am with them. I can’t begin to imagine what having my own child will feel like. I had such amazing parents and such a great childhood, that it will be the best experience ever to be able to provide the same to a child of my own.
My last vacation was very unusual. I am from Peru, so we love soccer, and Peru qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 36 years. My dad was a huge soccer fan and always wanted to see Peru again in a World Cup (my dad passed in March 2015 and never got to see it). My brother and I decided to go to the World Cup and celebrate this on behalf of my dad! We went with my sister-in-law and a group of friends. The World Cup was in Russia, so it was a long trip there, but it was a great experience.
I will return to work after taking at least 3 full months of leave and working from home the next 3 months. My mom will be staying with me the first 3 months, then heading back home for 2 weeks, and then back with me for 3 more months. We will continue this routine for the first year or year and half. After that I will have to use day care, so I have been evaluating some that are close to home and work.
So much gratitude and admiration, as I know it is a very selfless act.
