From Us to You

Dear Expectant Mother

We are truly thankful that you are considering adoption and are willing to provide the gift of family for others. We are very proud of your efforts to consider the best options for you and your child. You have the power to completely change the lives of hopeful parents like us. Our path to starting a family has been fraught with ups and many downs, all of which has made us stronger as a couple. Over the five years, we have learned to balance the hope with challenges, while persevering and not giving up. We are extremely grateful adoption is available and brave women like you are seeking out the best possible future for your miracles of life.

We live a wonderful life. We have worked very hard in our careers and personal life to achieve our dream life of love, laughter and family. We have a little cottage near the beach where we walk our two dogs Bailey and Sadie. On weekdays we go for short walks in our family-friendly neighborhood to local parks, shops and restaurants. On weekends we have more time to walk down to the pier and people watch while enjoying the sun. We have traveled all over the world to places like Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, Buenos Aires, Montreal, Santorini and so many more. As grateful as we are for our life, there is still something missing. We want to share this beautiful life we have built with children. We want to create new memories, experiences and traditions with the joy children bring.

We have a strong network of family and friends based in California. Christy grew up in a Sicilian family where get-togethers were a regular occurrence and included delicious, home-cooked, traditional, Italian meals and desserts. Her favorite part was the noise level at dinner. Everyone would be passing food around the table, talking and laughing. Christy’s Zia Carmela (aunt) always making sure the family ate more than they should or Nonna (grandmother) saying “manja, manja, manja” (eat, eat, eat). Christy was so excited to introduce Lee to her large (30 people) Italian family so he could experience the joy and love she grew up knowing. We want to carry on these traditions with children and also create new traditions blending our backgrounds.

Four years ago, Lee’s brother Matt and wife Lisa had a baby girl named Emerson. We have learned so much from them. We see our niece on a regular basis and love playing and reading to her. She is so smart and a good listener. Her brother Hunter was born a year ago and is a sweet loving boy who loves to eat. We can’t wait to provide Emerson and Hunter with a cousin. We already see us all playing in the backyard and going to the park. We see holidays filled with food and that beautiful loud family noise Christy remembers so fondly growing up. We get excited thinking about Emerson and Hunter being role models to our children and Matt and Lisa being an amazing aunt and uncle.

Should we be chosen, it is important to us that your child knows about your selfless and thoughtful gift of life, love and family that you have created. You are a very strong and courageous individual who has a vision for the life you want your child to have. We hope our dreams of having a family and the amazing loving life we can provide match yours. Regardless of your choice, we wish you continued strength in finding that perfect family to raise your child. Thank you for considering our family.

With love,
Lee & Christy

Why We Are Choosing to Adopt

We are choosing to adopt to complete our family. While we have not been able to have a child ourselves, we have been blessed with so many experiences and positive people and want to share this with your child. Welcoming a child into our home would bring so much joy and a sense of purpose to our lives. We want to share all of our traditions, history, and create new memories with your child as the center of our family.

About Christina

Over the past 15 years of our marriage, we have traveled to every corner of this world, shared experiences in lands far away and have been ready to raise a family. We have experienced the joy of our friends and family having children, persevered through the disappointment of our infertility and have grown stronger through it all. Children (and even our dogs) are drawn to Christy’s positive aura. Bailey, our bulldog follows her around the house and always needs to be near her. Our niece and nephew are drawn to Christy immediately when she enters the room. Her positive energy and genuine heart are instantly felt by others as she establishes relationships with ease and everyone feels comfortable around her. There will not be a better mother to a child than Christy – she is the strength of our family and the love of my life.

About Lee

Every day I feel grateful to have Lee in my life. From the very beginning of our courtship, I saw how kind and thoughtful he was in so many different ways. After just three dates, Lee drove me to and from work every day for two months after I totaled my car. We would go on dates to the movies, to restaurants, to concerts and no matter where we went, he always beat me to the door so he could open it for me. He still does it to this day. Some of my favorite early memories are the times Lee and I would go dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. The following day we would go for bagels and coffee, talking and laughing for hours. I feel happy just being around him regardless of what we are doing. Lee has a very close relationship with his parents. He grew up on a ranch having daily chores, caring for animals, while going to school and playing sports. His parents instilled a high standard of family values and morals. To this day, Lee still writes thank you notes to friends and family. Seeing Lee with our niece and nephew absolutely melts my heart. I can’t wait to see him be sweet, silly and tender with our child.

Our Lifestyle and Home

We live a casual and comfortable lifestyle here in Southern California. Our days are filled with being outside with our family, friends, and pets experiencing all that our area has to offer; from beaches to mountains. We live in a loving, supportive neighborhood with several families with children and some of the best schools in the county. Our house has all of the room that we need for our family, including a room for your child. We spend countless hours outside on our two patios with our dogs, enjoying the wonderful weather that Southern California is known for. We often walk to the beach and nearby park. There are many young children in the neighborhood that will grow up with your child. The winters here are mildso we enjoy the outdoors throughout the year. We have a Bacci Ball court and plenty of green grass to play on in the yard. Roasting marshmallows and making s’mores at our fire pit is one of our favorite activities that we enjoy with family and friends.

How We Met

As I walked by the shaded bench on the interior of our company campus, I saw a beautiful woman reading a book on her lunch hour. I noticed her immediately and had to find a way to meet her. Eventually, we met through a mutual colleague at work. We hit it off and dated for five years before getting married.

Our Families

Christy’s mom lives 8 houses down from us and spends a lot of time at our home. We enjoy having her be a part of our daily life. Unfortunately, Christy’s dad John has cancer and is going through chemotherapy. Christy takes a short flight to San Jose so often to take him to his doctor’s appointment. When we told John we are adopting he got so excited. His memory is not the best but every time Christy goes home, he asks for an update on the adoption progress. John is responding very well to his treatment and we believe he will be around to meet his first grandchild. Christy also gets to spend time with her sister Lisa when visiting her father. Lisa is 3 years older than Christy and they have a very close relationship. Lee’s parents live in the Yosemite area and are retired. Lee’s mom was a 1st grade teacher for 40 years. She is going to be so excited for another grandchild. Bryan and Carol come to visit frequently and are a huge help with their grandkids. They also bring us yummy treats that they grew in their garden or made from scratch. Some of our favorites are pickles, peppers, beef jerky, jam, dried fruit and so much more. Lee and Christy spend quality time with Lee’s brother who lives about 30 minutes away. His brother and wife have two kids, which we see frequently., taking them to the beach and local museums.

Traditions

We have several traditions that tie into our German and Italian heritage and the holidays. Gathering with family and friends at Thanksgiving, baking pies, putting a turkey on the rotisserie, sharing laughs while watching football together with kids playing in the backyard are all part of our traditions. With Christy’s family, we would be sharing a lasagna and making her grandma’s cannoli’s in the kitchen!

Our Dogs

Our two dogs have brought so much joy to our lives. Bailey, an English bulldog is the personality of the family, stubborn and playful, even at 12 years old. Sadie, our lab mix is loyal and always ready for a walk! The two of them are inseparable and follow Christy’s positive aura around the house all day long.

How We Spend A Three Day Weekend

A typical 3 day weekend starts with us getting up early and going for a walk or a workout, fixing breakfast and planning some sort of outdoor activity. It could be going to the beach, going to a friend’s house or planning a family dinner. We also enjoy taking short trips in the area to visit National Parks, go on hikes or just enjoy the beautiful weather at the beach. We love being outside! Going to the beach, walking our dogs, hiking and going to the YMCA are some of our favorite activities.

What We Will Teach

We plan to teach your child how to surf, play basketball, soccer and any other sport that involves being outside in this beautiful weather! Reading and education are a large part of our lives; whether it is finance, sports, cars, professional development, leadership, or travel – they all have a place. We look forward to showing your child new cultures, cuisines and experiences. We will also teach our children the importance of diversity and kindness in an ever-changing world. A loving supportive family will help us overcome all obstacles in life.
