Dear Friend,

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter. It means the world to us! We don’t quite know how to put our emotions into words, so here goes…The love we have for you and your baby is overwhelming, even though we haven’t even met! We imagine the difficult decision you face and we applaud your strength and your love for your child to even consider adoption. Should you choose to take the path of adoption and choose us to join you on this journey, we promise to be here for you through each step as we prepare together to raise your beautiful child in a loving and happy home.

We love to go on adventures and have so many plans to take our future children on them with us! We are the kind of people who will drop everything and spend the day hiking, driving to the beach, going to the zoo, or taking the boat or kayaks to the lake, because that is way more fun than doing chores at the house! We can’t wait to spend time with your baby in the backyard, playing on the swing set and slide, making s’mores over the fire, playing with our sweet dog, Dallas, and puddle jumping on the days that it rains! Aaron wants so bad to build a tree house where your child can learn, play, and use their imagination. We love to take daily walks and imagine the joy of taking your child on them with us, pointing out the beautiful flowers, stopping to play at the park, and just enjoy being outside! We just love to have fun, find new things to do, and spend time together as a family!

We promise that your baby will always be loved and supported by not only us, but also our HUGE support system! (We aren’t even exaggerating when we say huge!) Almost all of Taira’s side of the family lives within 20 minutes of us, which means we are literally surrounded by so many friends who love us and only want the best for us and our family. Aaron’s family all live in other states, but we stay close with them by texting and talking to each other on Marco Polo daily! We go to the beach every year for a week with all of Taira’s aunts, uncles, and cousins, and have a family reunion every other year with all of Aaron’s family.

One of our most favorite traditions is going to Disneyland! Every four years we make the trek down to California and spend the most magical week in Disneyland and exploring the beaches and can hardly wait to start taking your sweet baby with us to experience all of the fun and excitement! We truly love how we have both grown up around our big families and all of the things that they have taught us. It is so comforting for us to know that we have all of the love anyone could ever need at our fingertips. We love having family constantly cheering for us and know that they will do the same for your sweet baby.

We have such a great community full of diversity and inclusion! We have nieces and nephews who are half Haitian, coworkers and friends who are African American, and a Spanish Language Immersion program at our elementary school that we are so excited about! Aaron also had the opportunity to spend two years living in Australia, working alongside others of many different ethnicities where he learned so much about their amazing culture! We recently had a garage sale and were absolutely blown away by the amount of love and support we received from our neighbors and community when they heard of our adoption journey. We had no idea that we had so many people around us willing to help out, offer advice, and help us feel more prepared for this journey. We made so many new friends that have been, and are going through, the adoption process, that we can lean on for help when we need it. We were also given a crazy amount of resources for different support and play date groups, classes, books, programs, and people that we can connect with who have been here before and can help us with the many, many, new things that we are learning!

We both feel that no amount of success in our professional lives can replace the space in our family that we are reserving for children. We’ve both dreamed of being parents our entire lives, and have been ready to begin this chapter in our family for years. We have chosen the path of adoption because we feel so strongly that our baby is out there waiting for us. We know that ours is a home full of love, laughter, and support, and we know that we have so much love to give your sweet baby. We know that there is no amount of effort that we wouldn’t take to unite with our sweet angel.

Again, we just want to express our gratitude for you considering us.

XOXO,
Aaron and Taira

Q&A

Tell us about your home and neighborhood.

We absolutely love our home and think it is the absolute cutest :) It’s just a small home, but is comfortable and perfect for our little family. We have a nice, big backyard, perfect for running around, with a play structure, deck, water feature, and fire pit! We live in a quiet neighborhood, and are within walking distance to multiple parks, the elementary school, nature walks, the library, and, most important, Grandma and Grandpa's house!

When you have a 3-day weekend, what do you like to do?

We LOVE the outdoors. On long weekends we love to go camping or to the beach. If we decide to have a stay-cation we’ll go on a hike, take the boat out for tubing and skiing, or invite lots of people over for a BBQ where we’ll play volleyball, basketball, Frisbee, etc. and end the night with a bonfire and movie outside.

Do you have pets? If so, tell us about them.

We have a very sweet pup named Dallas! He is 5 years old and the BEST dog you could ask for. He is half lab, half Texas heeler and is super energetic and loves food! He is very well behaved, and will learn anything for a treat. He has spent a lot of time around our nieces and nephews and is so good with them. He is gentle and just wants all of the belly scratches and for someone to throw the ball for him!

What do you hope to teach your children?

There are so so SO many things that we want to teach our children! A few of the most important things we want to teach them are to be kind, work hard, love everyone, and always be looking for opportunities to serve others. It’s important that they have the life skills necessary to succeed in whatever they want to do!

What will you tell your child about his or her birth mom?

Aaron’s dad was adopted and has talked about his experiences growing up a lot. It’s important that our baby grows up knowing that their birth mother loves them and wants them to be happy and healthy more than anything in the world. We plan to openly raise our baby knowing who they are and where they came from.

Are you active in your church? Tell us about your activities.

We are very active in our church! We love the people there and the positive environment it provides. We attend church every Sunday, but are also learning and talking about gospel principles daily in our home. Our church provides programs for children to learn and grow in the gospel through singing, fun activities, and service to their community.

How will a child enrich your life?

A child will give us the opportunity to grow as individuals, our relationship, and our family. We have already grown so much in the last 5 years together and know that adding a child into our lives will challenge us in new ways and make us better. We are successful in our professional lives but have always felt like that takes a back seat to our family life and raising children. Your beautiful baby will complete our family and give us a greater purpose.

Describe your last vacation and/or day trip.

Our last vacation was to Disneyland! We go every 4 years with our whole family and have a blast! We went for a week and spent 4 days in Disneyland riding all the rides, enjoying the parades, eating all of the delicious food, and having the most magical time! We spent the last 2 days at the beach soaking up the sun, playing in the ocean, collecting awesome sea shells, and building sand castles!

Will you be a stay-at-home parent? If so, what are your day-to-day plans?

I (Taira) will be staying home! It is something that I am SO excited about!! I have so many plans, and can’t wait to do all the things! I want to have story time, play games, go on walks, play in the backyard, have cousin play dates, and spend every second that I can with your beautiful baby. During naps I’ll work on my at-home health coaching business, and the rest of the day will be filled being a homemaker and mother.

Will you be returning to work? If so, describe your day-to-day plans.

I (Aaron) will be returning to work after taking a couple months off to be with our new angel. In my position at work I have the opportunity to create my own schedule and work from home often, which gives me lots of chances to be with our family and take them on lots of adventures!

When you close your eyes and see yourself holding your precious baby in your arms, what are your thoughts regarding his or her birth mother?

She is truly an angel. We can’t help but get emotional thinking about her. She is giving us something that we couldn’t give ourselves and it just shows how fantastic she truly is. She is courageous, kind, selfless, and so strong. She is an answer to our prayers.
