From Us to You

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter. It means the world to us! We don’t quite know how to put our emotions into words, so here goes…The love we have for you and your baby is overwhelming, even though we haven’t even met! We imagine the difficult decision you face and we applaud your strength and your love for your child to even consider adoption. Should you choose to take the path of adoption and choose us to join you on this journey, we promise to be here for you through each step as we prepare together to raise your beautiful child in a loving and happy home.

We love to go on adventures and have so many plans to take our future children on them with us! We are the kind of people who will drop everything and spend the day hiking, driving to the beach, going to the zoo, or taking the boat or kayaks to the lake, because that is way more fun than doing chores at the house! We can’t wait to spend time with your baby in the backyard, playing on the swing set and slide, making s’mores over the fire, playing with our sweet dog, Dallas, and puddle jumping on the days that it rains! Aaron wants so badly to build a tree house where your child can learn, play, and use their imagination. We love to take daily walks and imagine the joy of taking your child on them with us, pointing out the beautiful flowers, stopping to play at the park, and just enjoy being outside! We just love to have fun, find new things to do, and spend time together as a family!

We both feel that no amount of success in our professional lives can replace the space in our family that we are reserving for children. We’ve both dreamed of being parents our entire lives, and have been ready to begin this chapter in our family for years. We have chosen the path of adoption because we feel so strongly that our baby is out there waiting for us. We know that ours is a home full of love, laughter, and support, and we know that we have so much love to give your sweet baby. We know that there is no amount of effort that we wouldn’t take to unite with our sweet angel.

Again, we just want to express our gratitude for you considering us.

XOXO,
Aaron and Taira

About Taira

Taira and I met each other on a blind date in high school in 2009. We were set up by some mutual friends and had a blast together right from the start! We’re both outgoing people who love to laugh and have adventures, so it wasn’t much of a surprise that our personalities meshed so well. I was struck with Taira’s adventure and ability to steal the attention in a room just by entering it. On one of our early group dates, Taira was the first one to jump off a bridge into the freezing cold river below, which is a testament to how fun and fearless she is! Taira has the most adorable personality on earth and you can’t help but get a giant grin anytime she tells a story. She’s never harsh or strict, and she’s the perfect balance in our home.

About Aaron

Aaron was meant to be a dad! He is the most loving, selfless person I know! Aaron is always looking for opportunities to serve others and help those around him. He is a crazy hard worker and is so good at building things, fixing cars, and helping out with projects around the house. He talks about our future family all of the time and has so many plans and fun adventures he wants to take us on! He is always teaching me new things and I know that he is so excited to teach our children everything he knows! I remember on one of our very first dates he taught me how to change a tire lol! While it doesn’t sound very fun, it was such a blast and I laughed through the entire experience! He has a way of making even the most boring tasks fun and memorable! He is so funny and is constantly trying to make everyone around him laugh. He truly loves to see those around him happy and enjoying life! He is going to be the BEST dad!

Why We're Choosing to Adopt

Our whole lives we’ve wanted to raise a family. We’ve worked for it, prayed for it, and hoped for it. One day we were volunteering at a homeless shelter and saw a young mother with twin babies. Mom had stepped outside for a smoke and handed us those beautiful little girls. Right then we understood that somewhere in this world there is a baby ready for us. Somewhere there was a mother with a beautiful soul who wants what’s best for her child, and is looking for a family like ours who want so badly to provide that life for her son or daughter. We don’t need to bring a child into this world ourselves in order to have a family. Because of you, we might have the family of our dreams.

How a Child will Enrich our Lives

A child will give us the opportunity to grow as individuals, our relationship, and our family. We have already grown so much the last 6 years together and know that adding a child to our lives will challenge us in new ways and make us better. We are successful in our professional lives but have always felt like that takes a back seat to our family life and raising children. Your beautiful baby will complete our family and give us a greater purpose.

Our Home

We absolutely love our home and think it is the absolute cutest 🙂 It’s just a small home, but is comfortable and perfect for our little family. We have a nice big backyard, perfect for running around, with a play structure, deck, water feature, and fire pit! We live in a quiet neighborhood, and within walking distance to multiple parks, the elementary school, nature walks, the library, and, most important, Grandma and Grandpa’s house!

Our Families

We have a HUGE family! Taira has 4 brothers and sisters. One of them is married with three little boys and they live about 15 minutes from our house. The rest of her siblings live with their parents, less than a mile from our home. Most of Taira’s extended family live within 20 minutes of us and are so supportive! We see the whole family a few times a month for different get togethers. While we see her immediate family a few times a week for Sunday dinners, family game night, movie nights, etc. We also have a big family reunion with everyone at the beach for a week every summer, and go on a big trip to Disneyland every four years! Aaron’s parents live here in town, and his siblings live across a few different states. We don’t get to see them nearly as often, but we receive so much love and support from them! Aaron has a twin among his 5 brothers and sisters, who are all married with several kids. We talk with them daily and do a weekly video call just so that we can stay connected even though we are all far away from each other! Aaron’s family enjoys camping and the outdoors so when we get together for a family reunion every other year it is always spent hiking, boating, camping, and just enjoying being together in the outdoors! We have truly been blessed with such a large, supportive family and can’t imagine life any other way! We are so excited and anxious to bring a little baby into this family and watch them learn and grow around their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Our Lifestyle

We’re fun loving, easy going people who always try to laugh. We look for fun things to do whenever we travel, but also like to relax, eat good food, and watch a show when we stay in. We’re active in our church and community, and like to give back when we can. We enjoy watching sports, and like to support our friends and family at their sporting events. Our pup loves to go on our family walks and he’ll play fetch until he can barely walk! We also love to work on the house! Whether it’s painting the kitchen or completely remodeling the bathroom, we love to change things up and keep it fresh. We believe family is the most important thing on earth, and so we spend lots of time together. We have big parties for 4th of July, Christmas, New Year’s, Super Bowl, birthdays, you name it!

Our Sweet Pup, Dallas

We have a very sweet pup named Dallas! He is 6 years old and he’s the BEST dog you could ask for. He is half lab, half brown heeler, and only weighs about 40lbs. He is very well behaved and trained, and will learn anything for a treat. He has spent a lot of time around our nieces and nephews and is so good with them. He is gentle and just wants all the belly scratches or for someone to throw the ball for him! When we babysit our nephews, Dallas will lay down next to them and watch them sleep for hours. He’s a very good pup.

On a Typical, 3-Day Weekend

In the warm months we LOVE to play outside! On a three day weekend we’ll take the boat to the lake and go tubing and wakeboarding with tons of friends and family or we might rent a house on the beach and spend the weekend playing in the sand and water. In the colder months we love to stay inside and work on the house. We like to update our home with new furniture, fixtures, paint or anything you can think of! Then we’ll drag our bedding into the living room and pile on it with snacks and a movie!

Our Traditions

Both of us have a big extended family, so naturally we have lots of traditions! Some of our favorites are searching for the perfect Christmas tree after Thanksgiving, printing photos and putting them all over the house on someone’s birthday, taking the whole family to Disneyland every four years, hosting HUGE New Year’s Eve and 4th of July parties, hunting with Grandpa every fall, and camping on the beach with the boat every summer! Traditions are important because they encourage us to get out and spend quality time with our friends and family. We love the traditions we’ve made and look forward to the chance to make new ones with your child!

Our Careers

I (Aaron) took the risk to help manage a small start-up company in 2017 but I had no idea how rewarding it would be. That company has grown from three employees to over 25 and the growth keeps on coming. As the company has grown, my role in it has too. My position gives me the freedom to make sure my family comes first. The owners of the company are like-minded in their priorities and have supported my family-focused career in ways I couldn’t have imagined, and my career will work hand-in-hand with raising a family!

I (Taira) currently work for the same company, and the owners are so supportive of my decision to become a stay-at-home mom when we bring your precious baby home! I’ve always wanted to stay home to raise my family, and doing that will make it possible to give your baby all the attention and love that they deserve!

Cultural Diversity

We both grew up in a very diverse part of town. It’s one of the reasons we chose to purchase our home in the same area we grew up. We want our family to be surrounded by different cultures, beliefs, and ethnicities. Our local elementary school is a Spanish immersion school, meaning all their students are required to learn both English and Spanish beginning in Kindergarten. Our neighbors are mostly African-American and Hispanic, which means your baby will grow up with friends of all different colors and cultures! It is so important for them to grow up loving everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, language, and culture.

What We will Teach Your Child

There are so, so, SO many things that we want to teach our children! A few of the most important things we want to teach them are to be kind, work hard, love everyone no matter what, and always look for opportunities to serve others. It’s important that they have the life skills necessary to succeed in whatever they want to do!

>
<

What We will Tell Your Child about You

You are one of the most selfless people on earth and your child needs to know that. They need to know the amount of love that you have for them. You are someone who sacrificed everything you wanted for yourself, to give everything you wanted for your baby. Your child will know how important you are to us, and to them.

Our Thoughts about You

When we picture ourselves holding your precious baby, these would be our thoughts: You are truly an angel. We can’t NOT get emotional thinking about you. You have given us something that we couldn’t give ourselves and it just shows how fantastic you truly are. You are courageous, kind, selfless, and so strong. You is an answer to our prayers!

Our Promise to You

Family is the most important thing on earth. Our family has always watched out for us, helped us when we needed it, and shown us unconditional love, no matter what. That’s what we promise you. We promise that your baby will be loved greater than we can even understand right now. We promise that your baby will be watched over and protected in everything from playground bullies to buckling up in the car on drives. We promise that your baby will be provided for and given every opportunity we can give them in whatever their interests and passions might be. And we promise we will love your child no matter who they are or who they choose to be, because that’s what it means to be family.
