Dear Expectant Parent(s),
We deeply respect the journey you are on and the love you
have for your unborn child. Should you
decide on the path of adoption and choose our family to bless with your child,
please know that we will forever be grateful to you for changing our lives and making
our dreams come true, and your child will always know how much they are loved.
HOW WE MET: We were
drawn to each other because we shared a lot of common values such as the
love of family, movies, music and theater and the outdoors. Terry already had a biological son, Emerson, and
we have learned so much together while raising him. One thing we knew for sure
when we married was that we both wanted to continue to grow our family.
WHY ADOPTION: When we
married, we dreamed of bringing a baby home one day to share our lives, home
and most importantly, our hearts with. We also wanted Emerson to have a little
brother or sister as we know what an incredible thing it is to be bonded to
siblings who are there for you when you need it and who believe in you, stick
up for you and share all those daily moments that remind you that you are not
alone in this world. We want to share our love and values and watch our
children blossom into caring people who will know they can make a difference in
this big world. We’re not able to have
biological children together and have chosen adoption as our journey to grow
our family and live our dream.
ABOUT AMY: When I
first saw a picture of Amy holding her baby niece, something just drew me to
her. After we met, I knew this was the
woman I wanted to be with and grow a family. I love coming home to her each day
and spending family time together. Amy is a great mother. She loves my son as
her own and together we are raising and guiding him to be a polite,
hardworking, honest, loving boy. Amy plays piano and would like to share her
love of music and dance by teaching the kids how to play the keyboard. Amy is very family oriented and has a great
relationship with her mom and three brothers and she can’t wait to include your
child in our loving family.
ABOUT TERRY: Terry is the most thoughtful and caring family
man. I was first attracted to him when I saw a picture of him kneeling and
helping his then 3 ½ year old son, Emerson, fix his tie for a wedding. It was
one of those pictures that makes your heart melt; it was so cute. He swept me
off my feet on our first date. He loves my family and our pets, and he is one
of those people that all kids love, and pets are drawn to him – they know he
likes them. I giggle and smile every time I hear him singing Elvis and building
Legos with Emerson, playing ‘kitchen’ or ‘babies’ with our nieces Avery,
Presley and Aria and watch him playing cars and games with all of our nephews.
He makes me feel safe and has always wanted more children for us and a little
brother or sister for Emerson. He often surprises me with fresh flowers and he always
treats me with respect.
Emerson is learning Japanese and French, so we are learning too! And Amy
shares her knowledge of Spanish and American Sign Language. Emerson also plays
the trombone! He can’t wait to read
his favorite stories to his new sibling, to build Legos and to teach him or her
how to play ball and swim! He plays basketball and baseball and enjoys being
part of a team. We love going to his games and cheering him on.
FROM EMERSON TO YOU:
I can’t wait to have a brother or sister because I would love to play
with them as much as I could. I would even do almost whatever they want. I
would teach them how to play sports. I would help them with their schoolwork. What
would be great if the baby came to live with us is, we like to do a lot of
outdoor stuff. Another thing is my parents make the best food! For every
holiday we try to get together with our family.
IN OUR FAMILY: We
laugh a lot, sing in the shower, and celebrate the little things that make each
day good as we sit down to dinner to talk about our day. You’ll often find us
in the kitchen cooking together, teaching Emerson how to crack eggs, sitting
around the table in our pajamas or making Sunday breakfast together after
church. We remember to be kind to one another, hug and give thanks every day
for the things we have. Whether is it camping
and swimming, playing sports and riding bikes, going to Amy’s brother’s cabin,
spending time with Terry’s family, enjoying wildlife or playing games, we’re a
close-knit group with tons of love, support and celebration. Sharing these
experiences with your child will make them even more joyous.
With love,Terry, Amy and Emerson
