Dear Expectant Parents,
We are Josh, Melinda and Nathan and
we are so thankful that you are considering adoption, and for thinking of us as adoptive
parents. We can never hope to know the
difficulty of the decision you must make, but we want you
to know that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us. We
hope that by sharing just how excited we are to provide a safe, loving and
supportive home for your child, we will be able to help you with your decision.
We are deeply honored to be a part of this incredibly personal decision and are
excited beyond words about the prospect of welcoming a child into our family.
We met while attending the same
university in Northeastern Ohio. The first time we met there was a connection
between us that neither could hope to deny, it was love at first sight. After
our first date, our romance was a whirlwind of excitement, anticipation, and
the unexpected. We remain as committed
to each other now as the day we took our vows, and we have been happily married
for almost ten years.
We are an active family and love
a variety of outdoor and indoor activities, from fun in the sun and enjoying
the wonders of nature, to a spirited board game or a family game night in the
den of our home. The neighborhood we live in has a close-knit community feel to
it with a park, a community pool open during the summer months, biking/hiking
trails nearby, a field to let our dogs play just minutes away, and lots of
activities to do. We feel like it’s a great place to start and raise a
family. On a daily basis we are walking
with our dogs around the neighborhood, taking our son to the park, working in
our backyard, playing in the pool, or lounging on our patio to enjoy the
beautiful summer weather. We enjoy home cooked meals, having friends over for
dinner, a get together with our friends, and a getaway camping trip to our
favorite resort in the fall and just enjoy a healthy, diverse life with our
family and friends. We have an amazing network of friends and family who have
children and who support us in every way imaginable.
It feels like “thank you” isn’t
nearly enough to say for this incredibly tough decision you are making. Though
we’ve not met, we are in awe of your compassion and courage. We know that the
gift of adoption is the ultimate act of profound love and selflessness. We
promise that your baby will be loved, protected, celebrated and will be
surrounded by loving family, caring friends and a devoted community who will
always celebrate them and love them unconditionally. We will always let them
know that you are an incredible woman who placed their needs above your own.
Joshua, Melinda and Nathan
