Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this little
glimpse of our lives. We are so honored to meet you! We are Alexx and Elise, a young couple from Washington State, just living the northwest
lifestyle. We are high school sweethearts who have been married four years.
Since before we were married, we always talked about having a big, loud,
wonderful family together. This all came to a screeching halt two years ago
when we started struggling with infertility. Alexx’s aunt and best friend are
adopted, so we have been exposed to the world of adoption for some time now.
Since being diagnosed with infertility, we have been open to the fact that
adoption may become part of our life journey.
We want to take a moment to acknowledge all that you have
been through on your journey to exploring adoption for your sweet little one.
We won’t even pretend to know what you are feeling, but want you to know that
we are keeping you in our thoughts. You can be assured, if given the
opportunity, we will love your baby like our own and provide them with the best
possible life that we can. A life full of family trips, bedtime stories,
unlimited hugs, swim lessons, T-ball games, ballet classes, and lemonade
stands. Our families will take them in without question and love them just the
same. We will walk beside your child and pick them up when they are down,
through all the twists and turns that this crazy life has to offer.
We live in a small town in Washington State with our two
Labradors, Roz and Ella, who are the light of our life. We met in high school
and knew pretty much instantly that we would be together forever. I am an ICU
nurse and love every minute of it. Alexx has been quite successful working with
his family business, a tool and equipment rental company. Alexx is an amazing
skier and golfer who is good at just about every outdoor activity. I try my
very hardest to keep up with Alexx’s bouncy personality! I love to travel to
new places, explore history, socialize with friends and family, decorate my
house, sew, and read books. Alexx loves to be constantly on the move, while I
do enjoy an afternoon curled up on the couch, binge watching my favorite TV
shows and movies. I guess you could say that we balance each other out.
Alexx and I are beyond excited to be parents and can’t wait
to start this journey through adoption. We are ready to bring a little one into
our lives and carry on all of our favorite family traditions. Christmas was a
big deal in my house growing up. I would help my mom bake a dozen different
kinds of Christmas cookies and my dad would deck our house out like the Griswolds’
from Christmas Vacation. My sister and I would spend a very special Christmas
weekend with our aunt and uncle each year, a tradition my sister plans to
continue with our kids. Alexx has special memories spending time at their
family cabin in the mountains, skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, and
playing in the lake in the summer. We can’t wait to bring our children to the
cabin and form our own fun memories.
Aside from holidays and family trips, we plan to offer your
child a loving and nurturing life full of just ordinary family moments. I will
work part time, volunteer in their classroom, make their lunches, and help them
with homework. Alexx can’t wait to coach their sports teams, teach them to ski
and ride a bike, and tuck them in at night.
This is our first adventure in the world of adoption and we
are thinking about it as just that, an adventure. We know we don’t have
everything figured out as far as how our relationship with you will grow and
evolve. We think it is important to make those decisions together as a team. However,
we can promise you one thing. We will love your child unconditionally, talk
about you often, and never let your child forget the irreplaceable role that
you have played in their sweet little life.
