There are not enough
words on this planet to explain the importance of your gift, and how humbled
and honored we would be to become parents to your baby and we are excited to
get to know you and welcome you into our family!
Chris and I met through a mutual friend. While dating each other, Chris introduced me
to his then 1 ½ year old son, Chase. I fell in love right away! He was a sweet,
kind-hearted, hilarious little boy who was on life greatest adventure to have
some fun! It has been so amazing to be part of his life and watch him grow.
Fast forward to now, he is an 11 year old who enjoys football, karate, school,
and video games. Chase lives with us part time, and our relationship with his
mom and bonus dad are great! We are able to work with each other on schedules
to ensure Chase doesn’t miss any big family events on either side of his
family. Having a relationship with them has also allowed us to easily
communicate on happenings in Chase’s life and how we can all help in different
In 2013 I donated my kidney to a young boy that was
dying. I didn’t know at the time that by
donating my kidney it would lead me on a journey of infertility. While Chris and I may not be able to give
life to our own child, I was able to give life back to a precious little boy
and give him a second chance.
When talking about having a family in our early
relationship, Chris and I knew instantly that adoption was how we wanted to
build our family. We cherish the dream of raising a baby together and would
love nothing more than to be parents to another child. We want to have a little
one to hold, snuggle and care for. But we want you to take comfort in knowing
that we will unconditionally love and support them through his or her entire
lifetime as a baby, a toddler, a teenager, and an adult. Your child will be
surrounded by an abundance of love, laughter and adventure with a large family
who are anxiously awaiting his or her arrival.
Chris and Chase have a wonderful father-son relationship and
love doing things together. They work on wood working and robotics projects,
video games, drawing, creating a comic book together, and playing board games. Chase
and I also have a great relationship. We love to talk about the most random
things, tell jokes that make both of us laugh so hard we cry, do different arts
and craft projects, and we love to cook and bake goodies together. All three of
us love going on adventures. Traveling together is something all three of us
greatly enjoy! We having a growing bucket list of places we are going to visit
after we adopt.
Chase is very excited to be a big brother. He often talks
about adventures he wants to share with a brother or sister and how excited he
is to help him or her learn new things. He is especially excited to show him or
her their new room, as he was beyond excited to help us put it together. He is
already beaming with pride! It is so precious to see his excitement about
having a new brother or sister!
Chris works locally for a company as a warehouse manager. He
has wonderful people skills and is very good as his job. I work from home as a
medical coder, and being home allows me so much flexibility! I also teach a few
hours a week at a local dance studio. We both believe in raising children with
mutual respect. We believe it I important to work with children to help them
gain their confidence and independence, rather than just telling them what they
need to do. In my experience with all of my students (ages 5 to 62) as well as
with Chase, this has been a very positive experience. It allows them to try
things on their own, and ask for help when they are ready. Every person have
their own individual gifts and strengths. We want to be there for your child to
help guide them and support them. We
have no expectations for what our children to grow up to be. We want to be
there for your child to guide them, help and support them in all the things
they want to experience in life, from sports, to school, to art and beyond.
We are very close to our families, and we think family is
very important. My parents are actually our neighbors! Chris’s parents live just a short drive from
us! In addition, I have two sisters and four brothers, and Chris has two
brothers. In all, there is a grand total of 6 cousins! We see them often and
make lots of plans for family dinners, and fun local activities. Needless to
say, family plays a pretty big part in our lives.
Our home life is fun and happy with a dash of relaxation. We
often have lots of get-togethers, holidays, and special events at our house. We
love having family and friends over and sharing stories, laughs and games! Even
aside from all the fun local activities and family fun events, we still make
sure to take time to relax and enjoy some family time with just us. We are dog
lovers and we have an English bulldog named Watson. He is two years old and has
the cutest little face! He is so great with little kids, always being extra
gentle. Watson’s favorite past time is napping and snuggling-he is a
professional! We honestly couldn’t ask for a sweeter more well behaved dog. We love to take him on walks and take him to
the park to let him run and chase his favorite ball. We also love to take him
on fun local adventures to lakes, walks along the river and special car rides
to Starbucks where he gets his favorite treat of all time… a pup-achino!
We are so blessed to be part of a big family, but greatly
desire to grow our family. Thank you so much for taking the time read our
letter and get to know a little bit about our family. No matter what you decide,
please know that we wish you the very best in your decision. You have our love
and respect for your courage and determination.
Ashley, Chris, Chase and Watson
