Dear Expectant Mother:
Thank you for reading our letter. We would like to begin
by expressing our admiration for the strength it takes to consider adoption for
your baby. It is a courageous and
selfless decision and we would be honored to be considered as a family for your
child. It is our hope with this letter,
to provide you with a picture of what life with our family would be like for
your baby. You must be very courageous and generous for ensuring the future of your
child, by considering adoption. No one can ever imagine what you are going
through, but we can all agree, planning your child’s future may be the most
difficult decision you can make and we have respect for your difficult decision.
We are active adults who like to be outdoors, and your
child will learn to love and respect the outdoors like we do. We will go out on
family bike rides, days at the beach, walks through the neighborhood, as well
as get-togethers with friends. We also
enjoy amusement parks, so we will share this fun with your child. All of our friends have kids and we can’t
wait to have a child to experience all the fun and challenges that they
do. We want to be able to go to dance
class or little league and have bounce houses.
We can only imagine how much fun we will have bouncing in the house, as
it’s not just for kids. We like to act
like big kids and have fun! Plus, Phil
is a huge sports fan and can’t wait to enjoy teaching the game to your child if
they choose to learn.
We have a lot of laughter in our house and like to make
fun of each other. We also enjoy
traveling and will have your child experience the world with us. We try to get passport stamps annually, so we
will share this with a child and allow them to help us pick places to
We will teach your child respect for themselves and
others, and also to respect his/her elders.
They will also have cousins to play with and lots of aunts and uncles to
help care for them. We will teach them
the life lessons Phil’s mom taught him, like if you don’t have anything nice to
say, then don’t say anything at all! They
will also get to share our combined cultures.
We lost our moms at a young age
from medical conditions. This helped
define who we are today. Both of our dads
live in the local area and we get together frequently. We also have siblings, nieces and nephews
that are local as well, and we often gather at our parents' houses for family
gatherings. Michelle’s parents were only
children and Phil has a large extended family that is in the local area and
Thank you for reading our letter and considering us as
adoptive parents for your baby.
