Dear Expecting Mother/Parents –
We would like to, first of all, thank you for taking the
time to read this letter to learn more about our
family and us. We appreciate your consideration in making this difficult
and courageous decision. As parents of an adoptive son, we can tell you that
the happiness that your gift will bring to a family is one of the greatest joys
that you could ever provide. Without the selfless
gift of another caring individual as yourself, Mary Beth and I would not
have experienced the pleasure of holding
our son for the first time and the
delights that we have encountered over the past eight years.
My name is Chad. I was born and raised in Iowa before moving
to Florida. I have an older brother who still lives in the Midwest and has a beautiful family with four children. Our son,
Luke, enjoys spending time with his cousins in the summer and during the
holidays when we can get together. I am
in the Information Security field and work for a company that allows me the
opportunity to work out of the house. In my leisure
time, I enjoy cooking (anything from an
exotic meal to grilling and barbecue in
the backyard), riding my bike, scouting activities, watching sports live or on
television and enjoying time with the family. I am lucky enough to have my
parents living in the area so that we can get together not only for birthdays and
holidays but throughout the year.
Mary Beth was born and raised in Florida. She has multiple
family members that live in the area that we love to spend time with including
her mom, sister, nephew, and cousins. Mary Beth works in the sales industry and
also has the flexibility provided to her that a home office allows. She enjoys staying active with many
sports activities such as running, playing golf, beating me in tennis, and playing
volleyball when time permits.
Mary Beth and I met in 2004 and married in 2006. We built a beautiful
home with ample space and activity areas in a
great community and school district to raise our family together. After
years of trying to have a child, we discovered that is was not going to be
possible without the assistance of the kindness of others such as yourself. In
2010 we were blessed with the gift of our son Luke through adoption.
Luke is excited about the opportunity of being a big brother. He is looking forward
to helping with the significant
responsibilities such as reading bedtime stories, explaining the fine art of Lego building (when the time comes), and knowing where the good snacks are kept in the pantry.
We are a Christian family that believes in giving thanks in
appreciation to all that we have been awarded.
We are also active in giving back to our community and helping others whenever
possible. Our family takes full advantage of the beautiful weather and
opportunities that living in Florida allows; enjoying the pool, beach or any of the local and area attractions. When we are not enjoying what our state has to offer, the
entire family loves traveling to other parts of this country as well as to
other countries to experience different areas and cultures. Back in the day Luke
was the only 6-month-old I knew with his own passport full of stamps.
We are excited about
the opportunity to add to our family once again through the miracle that is
adoption and allow Luke to enjoy the process that brought him into our lives
first hand and will enable him to be a
big brother.
With love,
Chad, Mary Beth, and Luke
