Dear Expectant Mother,
We are Heather and Eric, and we’re so grateful to have the
opportunity to share a little about ourselves and tell you what it would mean
to us to give your baby a forever home. We have tried to start a family for
many years, but having a biological child is just not in the cards for us. Adoption
is already a part of our everyday lives, since Eric was adopted as a newborn,
and we have come to believe that this was meant to be our journey.
We can’t pretend to know what this experience is like for
you, or how tough this choice must be. What we can tell you is that if you
choose us as your baby’s adoptive parents, we will love him or her with
everything we have. Quite simply, having a child would complete us. Not having
a child is the one thing we know we would regret when we look back on our lives
in 40 years. By choosing us, you would be giving us the most precious gift
imaginable, and you would forever be in our hearts. We are already in awe of
your strength and selflessness.
We met several years ago when we worked in the same office. We
were just friends for a couple of years, since Eric was involved in another
relationship. After that relationship ended, we began dating, and we married a
few years later. We will soon celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. We knew
from the beginning of our romantic relationship that we were in it for the long
haul. We got to know each other very well when we were friends, and we knew we
shared similar interests, values, and senses of humor. That has remained true
throughout all of the years we have been a couple, and our years together have
only deepened our commitment to each other.
Your baby will immediately have four furry, little siblings –
very sweet cats named Felix, Oliver, Elliott, and Dexter. We can’t wait to introduce
the kitties to their human brother or sister! We promise to teach your child to
love and respect not only animals, but all people. We both have a deep belief
in the importance of education, and we will make sure that your child receives
the best education possible. We are excited to go to the zoo and to the park
and pool, and to attend festivals and events within our community and in our
general area. We are especially looking forward to taking him or her to sporting
events and fishing, as both are activities we enjoy. Heather grew up fishing
with her father, and it was a great bonding experience. We are super excited to
take vacations to the places we loved visiting growing up, as well as to new
places for different adventures!
We hope this has provided you with a glimpse into what
adopting a child means to us and the life we would be blessed to provide your child.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we hope you will consider us as
you make this difficult decision.
Best Wishes Always,
Heather and Eric
