Dear Expectant Mother,
Wow. We can’t imagine what you are going through right now,
but we have the greatest respect and admiration for you and the decision you
are trying to make. Know that should you decide to choose our family for your
child, we would be tremendously grateful and would ensure that he or she has a
loving, supportive, and happy life. Your child would always know how much you
love them, and we would welcome having an adoption plan that respects the level
of openness that you are comfortable with. Should you choose us, we hope to get
to know you so we can share your story with your child, and we will always
honor you and the plan you choose.
We have had the dream of adoption ever since we first met as
a couple. Though Vic has two biological children through his first marriage, we
always hoped, even before we learned we were unable to have children on our
own, to expand our family through adoption. We feel we have so much love and
resources to offer your child. We would hope to raise a child to be kind,
generous, and loving—like us!
Drew and Amelia, Vic’s biological children, are of Hispanic
descent, and all of us take great pride in honoring their heritage. We would be
thrilled to continue this tradition by honoring the heritage of your child. Drew
and Amelia are as excited as we are about adopting a child into our family, and
we cannot wait to introduce them and see how they grow and bond together. Family
is incredibly important to us; we are both very close with our families, and we
both have parents, cousins, siblings, and a six-year-old nephew who are waiting
with open arms to bring another child into the fold.
We love celebrating the holidays as a family, so your child
would celebrate many holidays in the future! Vic was raised Jewish, and Jen was
raised Christian, so we celebrate all the major Jewish and Christian holidays!
We love any chance we can get to gather as a family, whether it’s holidays or
birthdays, where there is always good food and lots of love and good cheer. Another
tradition in our family is travel. Your child would become a world-class
traveler with lots of stamps in his/her passport! Jen’s family takes one major
trip a year to someplace new in the world, and with Vic’s family we travel to Salt
Lake City, Utah, where Vic’s brothers live, at least once a year for skiing and
snowshoeing. We are hoping your child will be a skier! When we are home, we
love making home cooked meals and eating together as a family, baking, watching
movies and football (Go Pats!), and spending time outside hiking and kayaking
(the dog kayaks too!). We love trips to the city for dinner, live music, and
the great museums. We also love being near the water and the beach—Jen's
parents have a home in Rhode Island, and Vic’s parents have a home in Maine, so
we get to the beach as often as we can in the warmer months.
Thank you for considering us for your adoption plan.
We are thrilled to be fulfilling our dream of expanding our family
through adoption, and we promise to love your child unconditionally throughout
his/her life. We have great respect for you as you contemplate a
difficult decision, and we empathize with all you are going through. We would
love the opportunity to talk further. Our thoughts are with you and wish you
all the best.
Vic and Jen
