Dear Birth Mother,
The three words “I love you” are ones that your dear child will hear often in our home. And we hope you will feel that love from us as we learn to know each other. You are truly a brave person to make this decision for your child.
Our names are Dwonn and Beverly and we live in the southern state of Mississippi. I, Beverly, went to teach school in a different state from which I was born and raised, and met Dwonn, a wonderful man who cared about others and laughed a lot. Almost two years later, in 2001, we joined hands in marriage and have enjoyed life together ever since. A couple years after we were married it became our dream to start a family. We soon found out adoption would be a part of our life if we wanted children. We have two children that we have adopted-a boy and a girl. They too have been praying and hoping for a baby and are anxiously awaiting a precious little one to join our family.
We live on a catfish farm of which Dwonn is the manager. I am a stay-at-home mom and I love it. Our house is a roomy three-bedroom home which often rings with laughter and song. As a family we like to play games together and singing is enjoyed by each one. Some of the things we like to do include spending a day at the park fishing, playing croquet, or just being together. I enjoy cooking my family’s favorite foods, and then to hear them say how good the meal was just tops it off! Dwonn enjoys working with cattle and fishing and these activities will only be more fun sharing them with your child.
Our dreams for your baby are to give him or her lots of love and to share our fun activities and happy family life. The nursery will be filled with toys and books which will help your child learn and have fun. We all look forward to watching your child get his or her first tooth, look at a beautiful rainbow for the first time, and discover the mysteries of God’s creation.
We live in a close-knit community where we feel the love and support of our friends and family members. My parents and one of my sisters lives nearby. One of Dwonn’s sisters also lives close by. We are together at least one or two times a week, and sometimes more. Even though the rest of our families are scattered around the country, we keep in contact and look forward to the times when we can be together.
Our wish for you is that you are blessed with a sense of peace and calm as you make this important step in your life—choosing what is the best for you, and your precious child.
Best wishes with love,
Dwonn and Beverly
