Dear Expectant Mother,
First of all we want to thank you for considering this very
courageous act and especially for considering us for the special gift of your
child. This would be the most precious gift ever given to us and we will
cherish your child until our dying breath!!
Let us introduce ourselves to you, we are Jackie and David. We
met online in 2003 and got married in May of 2007. Wow has that time flown by!!
We both brought something to the relationship, from Jackie’s organizational
skills and love for trying things new, to David’s love of history and his way
of making everything we do fun. We both like to travel to new places that we’ve
never been to before, and will continue that with your child.
We have always wanted to have children but have been unable
to conceive a child. Family has always been such an important part of our lives
and we’ve always felt strongly that the love we have for each other needs to be
shared with another. First came “Rocky,” who we love dearly, but that was not
enough. We wanted a baby, and since Jackie was adopted, we know that adoption
would be a wonderful way to make the miracle of becoming a mom and dad happen. A
few years in to our relationship and with the support of her family, Jackie
found her birth family and they are now an extension to her family. Jackie knows
what it is like to live in a wonderful, loving, adoptive family, and we will
raise your child in the same way; he or she will know that they are loved by
Our home is just the right size to raise a child, and is in
the same town Jackie grew up in and right next door to the town David grew up
in. Family is close by and we usually have dinner with Jackie’s parents on Sundays.
We have access to several parks and other fun areas in town where we can take your
child for playtime. We have a zoo in the next town over that is great for kids,
and it continues to grow with more attractions and animals. Living in New
England we are lucky to take advantage of all four seasons. Some stay longer
than expected, but we enjoy them all. We like to go to a local apple orchard in
the fall to pick apples and pumpkins. The orchard has hay rides, a playground
and a petting zoo for families to enjoy while visiting. During the spring time
they have a strawberry field we like to go to as well. Since David is a big
history buff, we know that there will be outings to some of the historical
places like Plymouth Plantation and Boston’s historical locations.
We want to thank you for considering us as the family for
your child and we know that this difficult decision is being made out of your love
for your child. Our favorite poem is “Legacy of an adopted child,” which is
hanging in the nursery, and the last line reads “Heredity or environment –
Which are you a product of? Neither, my darling, Just two different kinds of
