Wide open spaces and a multitude of farm animals are just some
of the things your child would enjoy growing up in our household. Our names are
Dave and Amy and we have been waiting for you to read this letter. We feel fortunate
having such a brave and selfless woman even considering us as the adoptive
parents for her child.
There are many emotions that come with the adoption process,
but the most prominent one for us is that of gratitude and utmost appreciation.
God allows people’s paths to cross for a very specific reason and we know
without a doubt that you are reading this letter not by chance, but because our
paths were meant to cross in this way.
West meets South! Dave is from California and I am from
Alabama. We met through a mutual friend nearly 18 years ago and have been inseparable
since. After 13 years of marriage, the same things that brought us together
then still draw us closer now. For me, it is Dave’s beautiful smile and crazy
sense of humor and for him, he loves my eyes and wild pranks. Dave is very
laidback and easy going. He loves sports, fishing, landscaping, grilling out
and cleaning. He is also a very gifted artist. I am full of energy and enjoy
gardening and spending time outdoors, but am most passionate about leading the
worship music as well as the Adult and Children’s Choir at the church where
Dave and I attend. We have a Yorkie named Sir McCartney (Mac for short) and he
is excited about welcoming another precious child into our family.
After trying for many years to have a child on our own, God
placed a light upon our path and showed us the great joy that can come through
open adoption. We thank God every single day for our amazing son and his
precious Birth Mother as they undoubtedly changed the course of our lives and
made it possible for us to experience the incomparable joys of parenthood. Our
son is truly a blessing and miracle and it’s honestly hard to imagine life
before his existence. It has been an absolute honor being able to stay in touch
with his Birth Mother and share all of his milestones with her as that really
means the world to us. Our son is such a bright light and has a joyful
personality that has brought us so much happiness, but we know that God has yet
another special child in store for our family that we can also love and adore
We have a very large family and are the proud Aunt and Uncle
to 11 nieces and nephews and Great Aunt and Uncle to 7 great nieces and great
nephews, so parenthood feels very comfortable to us and has blessed our lives
beyond measure. We are a very close-knit family, so this will undoubtedly be an
emotional, yet exciting time for all of us. Our parents and siblings are absolutely
thrilled for us, but our nieces and nephews are also clearly excited about welcoming
another child into our family. We are 100% committed to being a strong,
Christian family and raising a child in a secure and loving environment.
Our neighborhood is extremely safe and family friendly and
the sidewalks are always filled with children. My parents live right around the
corner in a home surrounded by farmland and all kinds of animals, including
dogs, cats, horses and cows as well as a bird aviary that is home to two
ostriches named Fi-Fi and Oscar, India blue peacocks and numerous oriental
pheasants. Your child would experience things that most children can only read
and dream about.
May you find comfort in our words and know without a doubt that
you would continue to play a role in your child’s life while allowing us to
provide them with a loving and stable environment full of childhood wonderment.
One scripture in particular that we hold dear is: “Now faith is being sure of
what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)
With Grateful Hearts,
Dave and Amy
