We believe that
babies come as they come, in the way God wants, that we are the stewards as part
of this bigger plan. We believe this with all our hearts and we are honored to
be a part of it. Your sacrifice and love to give the gift of adoption of your
child is noble and we thank you for considering us.
We have had many
challenges and stresses in our lives and we have come through them well. Having a child will, of course, bring a whole
new challenge, but one we have chosen and are looking forward to. It will be first and foremost about your
child and their needs and wants, which sounds selfless but we think we will be
the ones receiving the love as well. We
believe that the giving of our time and love, and being amazed and encouraged
by who they are will open our hearts to them, ourselves, and the world and God
in a way we can't imagine.
Our house is warm and
friendly, with big trees lining both side of our little street. It is a little
messy at times (we like doing lots of different activities), but it is clean
and safe. We have plenty of space for a
nursery and play area. We have lots of books, resources for sewing, hobby kits,
and instruments for singing and playing music. We live in a small community. There's
a large swimming pool and a nice park with a playground, open grassy area, and
basketball courts right down the street. Disneyland (one of Mike’s favorite
places) is just 10 minutes away.
Mike is an engineer and
Jean was an aerospace engineer and is now an architect. We met at work when Jean walked into Mike's
cube and asked for information about a presentation she was assembling. From then on, we really enjoyed working
together as part of the team designing the International Space Station. We were two nerds who had found each other. It
turned out we also shared interests in sports, skiing, movies, music, and many
other things. Now we’re involved in our
church, completing our vacation home in Brazil, preparing our home in
California for a child, looking at the sky through our telescope, and we both
have our outlets to sing in choirs.
We both come from
families that emphasized education (Mike’s parents were teachers). Where we live there are excellent public
schools. But beyond basic education, we
hope to teach your child kindness, curiosity, joyfulness, self acceptance,
freedom, helping others, love, love, love, and to be involved in the world.
While we cannot
understand the details of your situation, we so greatly appreciate your efforts
during this difficult period. We hope we
will be able to provide you love, support, wisdom, safety, confidence, and
hopefully, a bit of humor.
And we hope that you
can understand that we will always care for the gift of higher love that is your
child. Thank you for your patient love and your consideration.
