Dear Expectant Mother,
As we sit here wondering what to type, we can't help but think about
the hard decision you are about to make. You have to find just the right family
to raise your little girl or boy, a family that will love them just as much as
you do, and be able to meet the needs of your child emotionally, financially,
and morally. We feel that we are the perfect family for that job.
We imagine that the road that has led you to this place has been a
tough one, filled with difficult choices, concerns, and many emotions. We would
like you to know we do not take this lightly, and applaud the courage it takes
to make tough life choices, and to know that we will hold you in our hearts
We have been together nineteen years and have been married for sixteen
years. We have been trying to have a child for the last twelve years or so. We
have tried all the different methods with no success. This has been
heartbreaking for us, as we both desire more than anything to be parents.
We are both highly accomplished in our respective fields. Tanya is a
Registered Nurse and takes care of people in need every day, and Tom is a Federal
Police Officer, and along with his K-9 partner, Bady, spends his work days
protecting and serving people all over the world.
We live in the beautiful Virginia countryside and have a house much
too big for us and our dogs that we hope to one day fill up with
children. We have a great, safe neighborhood filled with young children
playing, and hope to add to that number in the near future.
Tanya has two sisters, and I have five brothers and two sisters. All
our family members are excited to have a new baby in the family. In total we
have seventeen nieces and nephews, so although we are not parents ourselves, we
have been around children a lot! We realize that having children is a big
responsibility filled with many joys and challenges.
Tanya is the best person I know. She is beautiful inside and out and
regularly puts the needs of others before her own. I am very proud to call her
my wife. If anyone on this earth deserves to be a mother it is Tanya; she
already treats all of her nieces and nephews as if they are the most important
people in the world. I see the way she interacts with Lily, our god-daughter,
and know that she will be the best mother in the world and will love, protect
and cherish your baby.
When I think of words to describe my husband Tom, the words courage,
loyalty, love and commitment to family come to mind. Tom has the courage to do
the right thing even when it is not the easy thing. Tom has been a loyal and
loving husband throughout the years we have been together in good times and
bad. Tom is extremely committed to his family and would do anything in the
world for any one of them. I know in my heart that Tom would be an excellent
and loving father to your child.
The path to having a family for us has been long one. But we believe
that our path has led us here for a reason: that it was meant to be. Being
parents is very important to us and we both thank you for considering us as the
adoptive parents of your child. We applaud and admire your courage for considering
Tom and Tanya
