We are Jessica and Terrence. Although we don’t know each other yet, we are grateful
for your willingness to consider us. We can’t fully imagine your strength,
love, or selflessness required to go through this process. We can however
imagine that underneath it all, you truly want what is best for your child. We
hope to share a sense of who we are as you search for the family you believe to
be right to love and care for your child. No matter what you decide, we hope
you’ll feel at peace and confident that your child will be part of a family in
which they will thrive and be loved and cared for.
have been together for 13 years. We met on our very first day of new jobs at a college
in upstate New York and we’ve never parted ways since! Our journey has included
many adventures and moves to pursue careers in higher education. 6 years ago we
got married and have settled in Pennsylvania, where we work on the same college
campus and live a couple hours away from our families. We both strongly believe
in the value of education, have dedicated our careers to fostering students’
development, and aim to better the world through our work with this generation.
I am a therapist and the Director of our college’s counseling center where I
provide therapy to students who may be struggling with various parts of their
journeys. Terrence is a Dean of Students and the Director of Diversity.
are an interracial couple and come from different backgrounds but we believe
that hearts do not distinguish between race, ethnicity or religion. We both
were raised in loving families who taught us similar values of hard work,
integrity, compassion, and kindness, and that is the place our relationship
operates from. We make a strong team and balance each other. Terrence is more
laid back, in the moment and free spirited, creative, witty and a deep thinker.
He enjoys playing basketball, playing music, and cooking. Jessica is more goal
oriented, enthusiastic, and a deep feeler. She loves running, being outdoors,
baking, traveling and reading. We’ve learned the importance of love,
dedication, understanding, patience, respect, compassion, shared goals,
laughter and having fun along the way. It is these values that we aim to bring
into our next chapter in life as parents.
want nothing more than to raise a child/children together. We believe that it
is at our core to nurture, support and facilitate growth in others. Whether in
our jobs or in loving our friends’ and families’ children, we couldn’t be more
passionate about children. We believe that families can be created in many
different ways – the most important thing being the love and commitment
involved. Once realizing that adoption was the path God may have intended for
us, we have become excited to embark on this process. We would love for nothing
more than to introduce your child to as much of the world as we can, to love
your child unconditionally, to provide a warm and nurturing environment, help
them understand themselves and realize their goals, instill strong values and
provide them the tools, education and environment in which they could thrive.
also have two four-legged members of our family, Sookie and Jackson – two
medium sized, sweet and playful rescue dogs. They love walking and playing
outside, giving licks and wagging their tails at everyone they meet. Our house
is very open with a lot of light and love in it along with 3 bedrooms and a
large backyard. We are in a quiet, suburban community with great schools,
beautiful nature trails and parks, and are close to museums, cultural events
and urban life. Our neighborhood is very close-knit, supportive and welcoming,
so we are constantly surrounded by families, friends, colleagues, and children.
We hope so much to have our paths cross and would forever cherish the gift of
having you and your baby become part of our family!
