Dear Expectant Mom,
We are so impressed by your strength and courage to consider
adoption for your child. It truly shows what kind of person you are to
make such a selfless, brave, and trusting choice. We hope
to live up to the standard you are setting, and to build our family with those
We are Jennifer and Justin. We chose the adoption process
after learning that we cannot have a child of our own. Jennifer has three
wonderful, adult children, but Justin has always wanted to be a father. We know
it is our calling to be parents together. We hope to build a family full of
trust, support and love. Our families are so supportive of our choice to raise
a child together. We are from the Midwest and hold our small-town values dear
to us. Our extended families still mostly live there. Where we currently live,
we are able to have an active, outdoor lifestyle. We look forward to sharing
with your child all our activities and appreciation for nature. Some of our
favorite activities include fishing, beach days, taking our dog to the dog
park, long walks and mini golf. We have access to great schools and our
neighborhood has lots of children.
Growing up when I (Justin) visited my Grandparents’ homes,
they would mark our height and the date on a door jamb. My parents still have
that door jam and continue the tradition with all the grandchildren. We look
forward to having your baby join in on this tradition. It’s heartwarming to see
the different generations compare all the dates and heights. We try to fill our
home with as much fun and laughter as we possibly can. Our favorite thing is
making each other laugh. This will only continue and get better with a child of
our own. We can't wait to see how your child’s personality matures and changes.
Although children can be stressful sometimes, we know we'll do great because we
can pick each other up during tough times now and that will not change.
We have a passion for animals which is what brought us into
each other’s life six years ago. We both worked for a pet store and found we
shared the same work ethic. We would volunteer for all of the same events and
fundraisers to help shelter pets and our local rescue groups. Since living
together we have fostered countless dogs of all ages and breeds.
We share our home with a Puggle-mix dog named Douglas who is
ten-years-old. His passions include breakfast and dinner time, treats, meeting
new humans (he adores children), and playing with other dogs in the
neighborhood. He likes to snuggle and is always there for us.
We hope that this gives you a vision of our life and how your
child would be welcomed, loved and cared for in our home. Thank you for taking
the time to read our letter and learn about us. We look forward to meeting you
and your precious gift. We will always remember and admire you for making this
