Dear Expectant Mother,
We do not know each other, but we have
an amazing opportunity to impact each other’s lives forever. We want you to know that any child we adopt
will know the very courageous and selfless decision that his or her birthmother
made and will know that this decision was made out of great love.
Before we were married, we laughed and
dreamed about all the children we could not wait to have. After we got married and experienced years of
infertility, the possibility of these dreams never coming true hit us
hard. Would we ever become parents? A year and a half ago, we were incredibly
blessed to be chosen to become parents by a very loving and courageous
woman. We will never be able to truly
convey to her the gift that she has given us.
You also have an incredible ability to change our lives and to help us
to grow our family. We are so grateful
for this opportunity to communicate with you.
We cannot even begin to put ourselves
in your situation. We are all faced with
difficult decisions to make in life and adoption must be one of them. One thing we do when we have a very difficult
decision to make is ask for God’s guidance through prayer. Our Catholic faith
is very important to us. We attend mass
every Sunday and prayer has led us to the decision to adopt a second time.
Our second adopted child, just like
our son, will be raised in a very happy, safe and loving home surrounded by
grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who cannot wait to have another little
one join our family. We are very close
to our extended families and see them often.
We live in a fun neighborhood filled
with children who are always playing outside.
The park, forest trails, school and church are very close. We are just a short car ride from the beach,
zoo and museums and we love to travel.
We spend much time with our son with friends and neighbors playing
outside and attending little classes for him.
Colleen was a teacher of students with learning difficulties and not
only loves children, but has great insight on early learning. Bob is the sports fan and is already teaching
our son how to hold a ball and shoot a basket.
We both look forward so very much to having a family of four!
God’s Blessings to You,
Bob & Colleen
