from Wisconsin! We hope this letter
isn't too cheesy for you! Haha. Our names are Jason and Niina, and we are so
excited and thankful that you're interested in getting to know us a little
better. We want to know you better,
too! We hope you have been feeling well
and that this important decision isn't too overwhelming for you. Whatever challenges you may be facing, we'd
like you to know that we are here for you and are honored to be a part of your
own journey to adoption started after 7 years of trying naturally, multiple
fertility treatments, and one miscarriage.
Losing our baby was heartbreaking, but the amazing support and love of
our friends and family helped us through that tough time. While we can't begin to understand your own
personal feelings, we hope to extend the same love and support to you and your
child will live in a unique, modern home with a huge yard for running and
playing, plus a nice fire pit for roasting marshmallows on summer nights. There is a park across the street and we look
forward to bringing your child there to swing on the playground or toss a ball
around on the baseball diamonds. Since
we are both book lovers, we'll read lots of stories to your child as they sit
on our laps, and will eventually teach them to read on their own. We can't wait to help your child learn all
kinds of things, from their first steps and first words to helping with their
high school biology homework. We are so
excited to share our lives with them and watch them grow into an amazing
your child is young, Niina will be a stay-at-home mom, and is looking forward
to taking day trips to the zoo, the children's museum, and meeting up with
other mommy-and-me groups for play time.
As your child gets older, s/he will only be a few blocks from their
elementary and middle schools, and a few miles from their high school, all of
which have a lot of activities to get involved in. We want your child to be free to make their
own decisions about what activities they like and dislike, and to honor their
individuality, so much of what your child will do during their school years
will be up to them! Of course, we want
to share our own passions with your child – music, dance, art, sports, DIY
projects, and gaming, to name a few – but ultimately, what we really want is
for your child to find their own passions and happiness. We would like for your child to eventually
attend college, however, we realize that college isn't necessarily the best
path for everyone, so we will support whatever decision your child may make.
addition to the two of us, our little dogs, Lucy and Baxter, are excited to
have a new face to lick and a warm friend to cuddle with, not to mention
someone to drop scraps of food on the floor for them to enjoy! Our family looks forward to less furry
versions of snuggles and kisses with your child, as well as sharing their love
and support, and simply getting to know them.
Holidays have always been a special time for us, with Christmas being
the highlight of the year. Your child
will spend a lot of time with our family over the holidays, playing cards,
watching Packer games, and eating lots of yummy food. We also get together several times throughout
the year, whether for a concert, a birthday or anniversary, church activities,
or just hanging out and having dinner.
Family is the most important thing in our lives, so we make sure to stay
connected with everyone, near and far.
more tidbit about our family is that Jason's two older brothers and his
brother-in-law are all adoptees, so we have several resources in our family for
your child to go to when they have questions or need a little extra
love for your child to continue their relationship with you, if that's
something you desire, because we believe that it's important for your child to know
where they came from. We plan to be open
and honest about their adoption, and we will tell your child how brave and
selfless you are, and how very much you love them.
you for considering adoption as a positive choice for your child. We are sending you lots of prayers and happy
thoughts, and we hope to meet you someday soon!
