Dear expectant mother considering adoption,
We appreciate this opportunity to share a little bit about
ourselves and our lives with you. We also look forward to getting to know you.
We have been together for 15 years and have created a happy,
loving life. Over the years, we have had a lot of quality time to learn about
each other, grow together and build a strong foundation for a family. We make a
great team by balancing each other’s weaknesses with the other’s strengths and
supporting each other fully.
We are excited about becoming a family through adoption. We
are fortunate to have the full support of our friends and family, some with adoptive
children, parents and siblings themselves. We know that your child will be
accepted and loved tremendously!
While we cannot fully understand how hard a decision this
must be for you, we are overjoyed at the possibility of adopting your child and
providing a loving and caring home for them. Our experiences trying to have a
family before now have left us with feelings of sadness and heartbreak. The
decision to start our family through adoption has raised our spirits and the
excitement in our lives. We are excited to start the next phase of our family
by bringing a new baby into our lives and showering them with our affection and
enthusiasm for life.
We will ensure that your child will be raised as a
self-confident, inquisitive and happy person. Whether it is building
gingerbread houses during the holidays, camping in national parks or bicycling
on the local greenways, life will be busy and always an exploration in our
On weekends we will fix breakfast together, making Mickey
Mouse pancakes and other delights before bicycling to the Farmer’s Market to
pick out things we will plant in the yard or fix for dinner. On summer days, when it’s too hot to play outside, we will take family outings to the cool
insides of the many museums located near our home, and during the winter we’ll sled in the big
park across the street. Truett has always baked and decorated
gingerbread houses during the holidays, and as our friends’ kids have grown,
the stories about the jelly bean paths and Life Saver wreaths are getting more
involved and cuter. Every year, our nieces and nephews enjoy a week at Cousin’s
Camp with Nana and Pops in the mountains, and we can’t wait to take your child
to join in the fun. We’re looking forward to sharing all these fun experiences
with your child. Our family will be a joyous one exploring childhood together through
your child’s eyes.
Thank you so much for considering us for this huge decision.
We look forward to meeting you and learning your story.
With deepest appreciation,
Susan and Truett
