From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to read our words and consider our family. We can only imagine how emotional and complex this journey must be for you, and we want you to know that we see your strength, courage, and love. We deeply respect the decision you’re making and do not take it lightly. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

If our paths are meant to come together, we want you to know that your child would be welcomed into a home built on faith, unconditional love, and joy. We would do our very best to provide a life full of laughter, warmth, opportunity, and support. We believe in raising children who feel secure, deeply loved, and confident in who they are. We would share our values with them by loving God, showing kindness, working hard, living with joy, and caring for others.

Our home is surrounded by a strong community of family and friends who are excited to embrace and support our growing family. And one of the people most excited about adoption is our 4-year-old daughter. She talks about becoming a big sister all the time and can’t wait to share her love, books, and bedtime songs.

As we think about this future together, we want to be open and honest about what feels right for us. We would prefer a closed adoption, but we are open to discussing different options and levels of openness with you. However much or little you choose to share, we will always honor your place in your child’s story. We will speak about you with love and respect and will explain that God didn’t give them to us biologically because He had a different plan in mind. He brought us to them in this deeply meaningful and unique way.

We are holding you in our prayers, asking for peace and clarity as you walk this journey. We are truly honored that you would consider us.

With love,
Matt and Amber

Why We Are Choosing to Adopt

We are choosing to adopt because we love children and have always dreamt of being parents and growing our family. Shortly after we got married, we began trying to conceive. To our joy and surprise, we became pregnant within the first month. However, that joy quickly turned into heartache when we discovered that Amber had a Molar Pregnancy — a rare and nonviable pregnancy. While this was a difficult and emotional experience, Amber made a full recovery and remains in great health today.

In 2021, we were incredibly blessed to welcome our biological daughter into the world. She is the light of our lives, and being her parents has been our greatest joy. Although we haven’t been able to grow our family further on our own, our desire to do so has only grown stronger.

We believe that adoption is a beautiful and meaningful way to expand our family. We feel called to love and nurture another child as our own — and to bless and honor you as their birth mom. We may not fully understand everything you are going through, but we admire your strength and your decision to choose life.

Lifestyle

We’ve been married for over eight years and our life is full of love, laughter, adventure, and a deep commitment to faith and family.

We both work in roles we love. Matt is the CEO and founder of our small family business, which allows him to work from home most days and gives us wonderful flexibility. Amber was an elementary school teacher for 17 years and recently stepped away to be a full-time mom and to help grow our business. Teaching is still a huge part of her heart, especially when it comes to raising kind, compassionate, and confident kids.

On a weekly basis, we prioritize spending quality time together. We have a weekly morning coffee date and try to enjoy dinner dates as often as possible. We also attend a weekly leadership class at church, where we enjoy learning and growing together. In addition, we are active volunteers at our church, serving on the hospitality team by making coffee on Sundays and helping host large events.

Faith is the center of our home. We love Jesus, serve in our local church, and are supported by a strong, encouraging faith community. We’re committed to raising our children in an environment where they can grow in their relationship with God, feel safe and supported, and learn to love others well.

Our family loves to travel and have made it a major priority in our lives. We’ve explored destinations such as Jamaica, London, Paris, Boston, New Orleans, and many places across the United States. Our next adventure will be a trip to Italy! We love experiencing different cultures, discovering new foods, and sharing new adventures together.

We also enjoy a good beach day and are fortunate to live about an hour from some of the best beaches in the world. There, we snorkel, swim, relax in the sand and sunshine, and take long walks along the shore. In addition, we love to snowboard and live about an hour from the slopes as well.

About Amber by Matt

The first thing that drew me to Amber was her warm, radiant smile, and it’s still one of my favorite things about her. She is kind-hearted, thoughtful, and deeply caring, with a natural ability to make people feel seen, heard, and loved. Amber communicates with honesty and gentleness, always leading with grace. I’ve always called her my prayer warrior because she carries others in prayer so faithfully. Her faith runs deep and is reflected in the quiet, powerful way she lives each day.

When we welcomed our child in 2021, Amber stepped into motherhood with incredible grace. She is patient, nurturing, and intuitive, bringing a calm, steady presence to our home. Watching her love our child has made me fall in love with her all over again, and she’s helped shape me into a better dad through the way she leads with love.

Amber is full of life. Her contagious laugh lights up every room, and she brings that same warmth and kindness into everything she does. People naturally feel safe, encouraged, and loved around her. She is truly a gift, and I thank God every day that I get to walk this journey with her.

About Matt by Amber

My Matthew is truly the best man I know. From the moment I met him, I was drawn to his bright blue eyes, loving heart, and tenacity for life. He’s the kind of man who opens doors, holds my hand, and comforts me when I cry. He balances being sensitive and strong, artistic and business-minded, and knows when to be lighthearted or serious. Above all, Matt is a man of God who lives with integrity, honesty, loyalty, and love. He is everything I’ve ever wanted in a partner, and as a father, he is even more incredible.

Matt fills our home with warmth, laughter, and playfulness. He is affectionate, generous, and deeply present as a dad, always willing to give our daughter the best life possible. Watching him parent has been such a gift. As we look forward to growing our family through adoption, I know he will bring the same dedication, kindness, and unwavering love to every child we welcome.

Matt is already the kind of dad every child dreams of having. He coaches our daughter in sports, dances with her around the living room, reads bedtime stories, and is always ready with cuddles. He leads our family to church, takes us on adventures, and builds joyful traditions. I know he will continue to teach our children to find joy in every moment and to feel deeply loved every day.

Our Daughter

Our daughter is the light of our lives. She’s four years old and is as sweet as she is smart. Our daughter has a huge heart—she’s always thinking about others, asking thoughtful questions, and noticing the little things that most people overlook. She’s naturally curious and loves to learn, whether it’s through exploring, asking “why?” about everything, or creating something new with her hands.

Our daughter loves to play and be creative. You’ll often find her doing crafts, painting, drawing, singing at the top of her lungs, or making up games and stories. She adores Minnie Mouse and has built quite the collection of ears, dolls, and bows. One of the things she talks about most is her dream of having a brother or sister—she brings it up often, with so much love and excitement in her voice. She’s already such a nurturing and caring little girl, and we just know she’s going to be the best big sister.

Our Home

We live in sunny Southern California in a beautiful, private lake community just about an hour from both Disneyland and the beach! We purchased our home new in 2018 in a vibrant neighborhood full of amazing amenities. Within walking distance, we have access to a serene fishing lake, two community pools, a splash pad for kids, a large sports park, and several playgrounds. Our neighborhood is filled with young families and children, and we love participating in the many community events and celebrations, especially during the holidays. (Our home is always one of the most decorated on the street at Christmas, and we’re pretty proud of that!)

Our house is a spacious five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home with a large backyard and plenty of room to play and grow. We’ve loved raising our daughter here—she has so much space to run, play, and explore both inside and out. In the backyard, we have a cute playhouse, a small trampoline, and plenty of open grass to kick soccer balls, play catch, and just be a kid. There’s also room to ride scooters and bikes, along with a few fruit trees that we’ve planted and cared for as a family. It’s truly a space designed for play, fun, and making childhood memories.

The heart of our home is the kitchen, where we cook homemade meals, bake treats, and gather as a family. We love hosting family dinners, holiday celebrations, game nights, and just about any excuse to bring people together.

We feel incredibly blessed to have such a warm and comfortable space to call home. It’s been the perfect place to build memories with our daughter, and we’re so excited to grow our family here. We look forward to watching our children laugh, play, learn, and thrive in this safe, stable, and joy-filled environment.

Our Family

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we truly believe that to be one of the greatest truths. We feel incredibly grateful to be surrounded by a loving, supportive community made up of both family and friends who walk through life with us. Your child will be welcomed into a strong, close-knit network of people who are ready to love and support them unconditionally.

We’re blessed to have both sets of parents still happily married, each of them modeling decades of faithful, selfless love. They’ve been steady sources of encouragement and wisdom in our lives, and they are so excited to be involved in raising another grandchild. Between us, we also have several siblings who are just as eager to welcome a new niece or nephew. Matt has an older brother who is married with two children, ages 15 and 10, and a younger sister with a five-year-old son. Amber has an older brother who is married and has two children, ages 19 and 13. In addition to our immediate families, we are also incredibly close with our aunts, uncles, and cousins who bring so much warmth and joy into our lives.

Beyond family, we are lucky to have lifelong friendships that feel just like family. We’ve become one big, happy unit who celebrate milestones, holidays, and everyday moments together. We continue to grow alongside them and treasure the deep bonds we’ve built.

Our church family is also a huge part of our life. We serve alongside many of them on Sundays and meet regularly for fellowship, encouragement, and fun. Many of our closest friends have young children, so our daughter—and your child—already have a built-in circle of playmates and friends. We are so thankful for this beautiful, loving community, and we feel so much peace knowing that we don’t walk this journey alone. Our future child will grow up surrounded by people who will love, support, guide, and celebrate them every step of the way.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

We want you to know that we will always honor and celebrate your child’s race, culture, and heritage as a vital and beautiful part of who they are. We deeply value the story and identity they bring with them, and we believe it is our responsibility and privilege to ensure they grow up feeling proud of where they come from. In our home, we will talk openly and often about their background, incorporate books, music, art, and traditions that reflect their culture, and seek out communities and experiences that affirm and reflect their identity. We are committed to learning continuously, visiting the places that are meaningful to their story, and making sure they know how deeply respected, loved, and connected they are, both to their roots and to you.

Traditions

We both grew up in families where traditions were a big part of life, and we’ve carried that love for tradition into our own home. Many of our traditions revolve around holidays and family gatherings. Every year, we celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, the Fourth of July, and birthdays with our extended families. These gatherings are usually potluck-style, with everyone bringing a favorite dish to share. The food is always delicious, but it’s the laughter, games, and time spent together that mean the most.

In our own little family, we’ve created meaningful weekly traditions that our daughter looks forward to, like Taco Tuesday, Pizza Friday, and our beloved “DQ nights” (trips to Dairy Queen for a sweet treat). We love planning fun and thoughtful birthday parties for our daughter, and Christmas morning is full of joy with cinnamon rolls, stockings, and presents under the tree. We also serve together at our church’s annual community service event, helping meet the needs of families in our local community, something that has become one of our most meaningful traditions.

We love creating traditions when we travel too. Every time we go somewhere new, we collect a magnet for our refrigerator as a reminder of the memories made. Our fridge tells the story of all our adventures together!

One of our most cherished daily traditions is praying together before bed, no matter where we are or what kind of day we’ve had. It keeps us grounded and connected as a family and is something we plan to continue for the rest of our lives.

As we grow our family through adoption, we are committed to honoring and celebrating our child’s culture and ethnic background. We will thoughtfully create new traditions that reflect their heritage, allowing them to feel proud of who they are and where they come from. It’s important to us that our child not only feels deeply loved but also deeply known and celebrated.

Our Dog

We have one pet dog named Wrigley, and he is the love of our life — and sometimes the boss of the house! He’s a fluffy, white and gray Shih Tzu who is now 7 years old and still full of personality. Wrigley loves to cuddle, go for long walks, and be wherever we are.

Wrigley is always in the same room as us and seems to communicate in a human-like way — it’s both hilarious and surprisingly helpful. He’s incredibly gentle, friendly, and loving, especially with children. He and our daughter have the sweetest bond — she loves him like crazy, and he loves to snuggle her every chance he gets. Wrigley is a calm, comforting presence in our home, and we know he’ll make an amazing big brother once again!

Our Promise to You

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and learn more about our family. We know this may be one of the most difficult and emotional times in your life, and we want you to know how deeply we respect your strength, your love, and your decision to choose life. Please know that we are praying for you, for clarity, peace, and comfort, and that you feel supported every step of the way.

While our preference is for a closed adoption, we are open to considering a partially open adoption if that is something you feel strongly about. We believe that every adoption journey is unique, and we are more than willing to have an open and honest conversation about what level of contact feels right and comfortable for you. Your voice matters in this process, and we want you to feel confident and at peace with whatever path is chosen.

We believe that God has brought us here, to this moment, for a reason. We are honored to be considered as part of your child’s future and promise to carry your legacy with the utmost respect, love, and gratitude. Should you choose us, we will never stop being thankful for your courage, for your trust, and for the gift of loving your child with all our hearts.
