From Us to You

We want to start by saying that we are already praying for you and your baby.  We believe that God has a plan for us all and we pray God grows our family and your trust in Him through this adoption.  We have had multiple ups and downs with trying to get pregnant over the years which include many miscarriages and heartache.  However, we are hopeful that God will grant us a child to love and care for.

We can’t even imagine what you are going through, but we know this is a difficult decision to make.  We both want to support you in your decision making and let you know you have a lot of support. Please know that we will raise your child in the most loving home with grandparents right next door, a safe and stable neighborhood with an excellent school system, parks, pools, and the beach close by.

We’re a pretty active couple that loves making memories with family, friends and with our two dogs.  As you can see by all our pictures, we love to travel and experience life, but we’re especially excited to introduce a child to all that life can offer.  They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we have a lot of support from our family, friends, and our church to give us advice and instruction to make sure we raise your child with values, ethics, a love for exploration and travel, a love for family and most importantly a passion for God.

With us, your child will be surrounded with love, laughter, kindness, adventure and God as he or she grows up.  We feel extremely blessed that God led us to the pathway of adoption to grow our family and we are so thankful that we get this opportunity to share about our life, and to also get to know you better.

Why We're Choosing to Adopt

We are choosing to adopt because we have always wanted a big family but have been unable to have children of our own. When we first got married, we were really excited to grow our family, but months turned into years without anything happening. In 2012, we finally got pregnant, only to discover that 8 weeks later it ended in a miscarriage. Two more miscarriages happened throughout the next year, and we were starting to lose hope. In 2015-2016 we decided to try Invitro-fertilization with the help of a specialist, but this long, hard, and challenging road was also unsuccessful. It was a heartbreaking journey, but it has made us so strong in our relationship and we truly believe God has led us to adoption as our path to parenthood. In some ways, going through all our struggles over the past few years has made us appreciate children and all the joy they bring just that much more. It would be our honor to welcome your child into our home and love them with all our hearts.

Our Relationship with You

We want to honor your wishes to the best of our abilities and have a relationship with you that you are comfortable with. Each adoption story is going to be different and special, and we want to be able to teach your child as much about you and your family history as you feel comfortable sharing. We won’t know what that will look like until we get to know each other, but we are open to many possibilities.

About Jason

Jason is a hardworking, dependable, smart, funny, compassionate, and adventurous man of God who loves to be outdoors and in nature. He’s been a union pipefitter for a number of years working with multiple companies, ranging from refineries to breweries and has a ton of experience with building new things. He’s extremely creative and loves to work with his hands by constructing new backyard games or fixing things around the house. He also loves spending time with his family or anything outdoors. He’s an avid camper, hiker, swimmer and loves to travel. We make an excellent team while traveling and Jason loves to share our love of travel and new experiences with our friends and family. Jason has a great sense of humor, wonderful imagination and can be super silly, which makes him the go-to fun uncle to play with or build the most epic fort or Hot Wheels track. Some of his most favorite hobbies would be photography and puzzling. He takes amazing photographs of landscapes and has a real eye for seeing the beauty in everything. Jason pays great attention to detail in his work and hobbies which is why he’s been labeled in the family as the puzzle master! He’s an amazing husband who is always caring and loving while also leading and guiding our family to love and honor our Lord. He sets a wonderful, Godly example for our friends, our family and for his co-workers. I feel so blessed to have Jason as my husband and I couldn’t ask for a better relationship with my best friend.

About Kim

When I first met Kim, I thought she had the cutest smile and a great laugh. From that moment I knew I had to get to know her and asked for her number the same night we met. The next day I called, picked her up and we went bowling for our first date. She won all three games, and that’s when I found out how athletic she is. She was playing water polo in college at that time and was ranked 14th in the nation. Kim grew up playing all kinds of sports, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and even baseball. Not only is Kim athletic, but she is really smart, too. She has her bachelor’s degree in Geography and a Masters in Nutritional Science. Kim loves to help people learn to eat healthy as a Registered Dietitian. Kim loves to bake and has come in first place three times now in our yearly pie baking contest at church. She is always ready to bake a pie, cake, or cupcakes for our family or friends’ birthdays. I know she will be a great mom because of the way she is with our nephews and niece. She is always there for them to listen to what’s going on in their lives, playing with them, or even how she talks to them to teach them how to be better people as they grow up. She always makes time for people, willing to help with whatever they need. Kim is a positive, intelligent, funny, beautiful woman and I am extremely blessed to call her my wife.

Our Sweet Pups

We have two Labrador Retrievers named Maverick (yellow male) and Charlie (black female). They absolutely love children and grew up around our niece and nephews who were constantly playing with them and hugging them like crazy! They love to also be active, and we take them on daily walks, trips to the beach, camping and on vacation when we can! They are extremely well trained and love everybody they meet, especially kids. They are amazing dogs who are best described as the best cuddle dogs ever with the most contagious smiles.

Our Home

We live in a cozy, four-bedroom, two-bath house right next door to Kim’s parents, which will be very convenient for babysitting and daily visits for the grandparents to spoil your child. It’s a quiet and safe neighborhood with parks and playgrounds just a few blocks away. The beach is a few miles away, and we can easily take the dogs down for a swim, walk or family bike ride. We have been blessed with a large backyard where we play with our dogs and spend time with our family and friends, competing in various backyard games like cornhole, croquet, badminton, and volleyball to name a few. We also love hosting BBQ’s.

We plan to plant our own vegetable garden and currently have 3 fruit trees that we would love to teach your child about. They can help us pick the ripe apples, oranges, or lemons and help Kim bake them into something delicious.

Our neighbors are extremely friendly, kind and always willing to lend a helping hand. We even share salsa or cupcake recipes and always feel comfortable borrowing a cup of sugar here and there or lending out a tool to fix a neighbor’s fence. We’ve lived here for a little over 11 years and see it as our forever home because it’s a great neighborhood that’s so close to our church and our immediate families.

Our Families and Friends

Our families are made up of some amazing people who are a big part of our lives and have helped make us into the people we are today. Right now, we live close to both sides and see them as often as we can for dinners, game nights, birthdays, and holidays. Both sets of parents are still very involved in our lives, and we love to travel with them or just spend an afternoon together.

Your child will be blessed with 4 uncles and 2 aunts from both sides as well as 3 cousins to play with and learn from. We both love being an uncle and aunt to our niece and nephews and we enjoy helping to teach them to swim, hike, ride their bikes and eat healthy.

Our family is so excited that we are adopting and is ready to welcome a new addition to the family with love.

Our friends are family to us!! Many of our friends live close, but some have moved out of state which means we’ll have many opportunities to travel and plenty of people to visit. We love getting together with our friends from church for dinner, game nights, hiking, lunches, bonfires, sports, church events, coffee or discussing the bible together. We meet up with our fellowship group friends at least once a week to talk about the Sunday sermon and to catch up with what’s happening. We love hearing all about what God is doing in their lives and pray for them daily! Most of our friends have young children so your child will have many playmates and play dates to look forward to. We love celebrating holidays and birthdays with all our friends as well.

Our Traditions

We love spending time with family and celebrating all the holidays together. Some of our Christmas traditions include opening one present on Christmas eve together and we started giving experiences rather than things for our family members, such as tickets to a play, concert, or a museum so that we can make memories with them. We believe memories and spending time together is more important than material things. Other holidays like Easter, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving are also centered around family and sharing great food together. For friends and families’ birthdays, Kim loves to bake them their favorite pie, cupcake or cake and decorate it in their favorite candy, frosting or theme. Another tradition from Jason’s side of the family centers around a secret family taco sauce recipe that gets made from memory only by those who have watched it get made in the past. Sometimes the maker of the sauce will put their own personal flair to it by increasing the spice or keeping it mild. This family tradition was first invented by Jason’s grandma and has been passed down through the generations and gets used mostly for family birthdays.

We also have our church tradition of Fall Fest every year on October 31st, which the church does to provide an alternative to Halloween. This is where we get to dress up in costume, enjoy a meal and candy with our friends and family, and it’s where Kim bakes pies for the pie contest (and won twice!). It’s a great way to get together as a church family in a safe, fun and encouraging way.

Our Vacations

We love to travel and explore new places around the country and around the world. We’ve been to Hawaii a few times, have taken many road trips around the country and traveled to Europe once. In all our travels, we love just spending time together and learning new things about the places we go. We also love learning about different cultures and new foods as well. Road tripping, seeing new places, and being in the car together, especially with our dogs is one of our favorite things to do. When we can be in nature together, we can truly appreciate all that God created. We go up to the mountains at least once a year and would love to own a cabin one day, especially near a lake. We can’t wait to share that sense of adventure with your child.

Our Careers

Jason is passionate about construction and creating new things with his hands. He went to trade school right out of high school. He’s been a union Pipefitter for many years and has a lot of experience working in breweries and refineries where industrial piping is most prevalent. He loves being able to build new things and calculate complicated layouts for his team and teach apprentices the tricks of the trade.

Kim serves her community by being a Registered Dietitian and is passionate about healthy living, nutrition, and exercise. Kim works in two different locations – full time as a lecturer for a university and is a per diem Dietitian at an acute care hospital in the area. For the hospital Kim is involved in inpatient care, long term rehab care and outpatient nutrition counseling. Kim is also part of the bariatric surgery committee where she leads support groups, does nutrition education, and follows up with patients to help them lead healthier lives. For the University, Kim teaches many nutrition courses that range from an intro to nutrition course to some upper division courses about nutrition counseling and another about Medical Nutrition Therapy. She loves what she does for a living and is excited to share the importance of nutrition with the community and with family.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

We promise to learn about your child’s race, culture, history, and traditions and teach them about where they came from. We were taught growing up that everyone is unique in their own way and to respect others no matter what their cultural differences are. We want to always honor where your child has come from and teach them as much as possible.

How a Child will Enrich our Lives

We feel truly blessed to have such a great relationship together and know that will grow when we have a child to share it with. In the Bible, God says that children are a gift, and you would be helping us receive that gift. Being able to watch a child grow up knowing God, playing sports, school activities, going to college, and getting married are all things that we are looking forward to cherishing. Our parents are especially excited for a grandchild to love.

Our Faith

Our faith is something we are very passionate about, and we trust God to lead us and guide us every day. We attend a Christian church near our house that is centered around the Bible where we were both saved! We also attend a fellowship group that meets at least once per week where we learn more about God’s word, which helps us in our daily walk with the Lord. We also serve where needed like setting up/breaking down events and working in the hospitality ministry, cleaning the church and serving meals. Our church family is so important to us, and we want to be able to share the Gospel and all that our church has to offer with our future children.

Our Lifestyle

We both love to be in nature and enjoy what God has created by camping, hiking, snowboarding, skiing, kayaking in the marina, playing sports or by taking a trip up to the mountains for some fresh air. We’re a pretty active couple and love to be on the move with our dogs in tow. If we could take them everywhere, we definitely would! One thing we are both looking forward to is teaching your child how to ski or snowboard or just be up in the snow and having a snowball fight!

We both love watching and attending live sporting events too, whether it be football, baseball, hockey, or basketball and would love to teach your child about different sports and get them involved in something they enjoy. We also enjoy playing sports as well – we both have a decent golf game and Kim loves playing beach volleyball.

Traveling is also a huge part of our lives. We have been to many places all over California and have recently explored Denver, parts of Utah, Arizona, and Hawaii. We also have family in other parts of the country like New York, Virginia, Wisconsin and Colorado and visit whenever possible. We’ve traveled to Europe once together and are planning to visit again soon. We definitely have enjoyed all the culture we experienced and can’t wait to share those experiences and more with future children.

Other hobbies of ours would include going to live concerts, going to the mountains and relaxing or taking a hike in the fresh air. Kim loves making delicious food, baking sweet treats, and overall keeping the family well fed with nutritious options. Jason also loves fixing and building new things around the house, like a screen door with a doggy door big enough for our dogs, or a new bookshelf for all the board games and puzzles we have. He also enjoys reading a good book.

Our day to day is quite calm. We walk the dogs almost daily and we try to exercise 2-3 times per week. We always have dinner together and sometimes we even cook together. Both of us can cook some amazing dishes. Then we relax together by watching TV or reading. Kim likes to bake on the weekends or when needed for church events. We both work during the day right now, but Kim plans to mostly stay home with your child and continue her teaching job one night per week. Once we have children, they will become the priority. We know many things will be different when a baby comes into our lives, but we’re prepared and ready for that exciting change!

Our Promise to You

We promise to provide a safe and stable home for your child and to love them as much as humanly possible. Your child will always be cared for and will know the love of our family and friends as well as our love for them. We will raise your child to know God, to love Him and to follow His ways. We will also encourage involvement in whatever activities your child wants to be in, which may include things like sports, travel, outdoor activities, and academics. We will be as open as we can with this beautiful child and tell him or her as much as you want us to reveal. We will encourage them to be silly and enjoy the fun parts of life while also to be honest, responsible, to love others and show kindness.
