From Us to You

We are Tyler and Megan. Thank you for taking time to get to know us. We know this is a difficult and confusing time for you while you are trying to figure out the best option for you and your baby. We hope you feel supported and loved wherever you are in your journey. We are so grateful for you choosing life and for considering adoption.

We have always lived our lives as a team and communication has always been number one for us. If you decide to make an adoption plan with us, this will be our top priority for you too. We want everyone involved to be satisfied and happy with how our relationship progresses. We plan to always tell your child that he or she is a gift from a very special loving mother. We promise to love your child with all of our hearts, and to provide a safe, happy home and a life with every opportunity possible.

The two of us met in 2007. Our younger brothers were friends and we met at a swim meet before Tyler’s freshmen year. We became friends almost immediately and that friendship grew into a strong loving bond. We were married after 10 years and it has been a wonderful six years since.

In our time together, we have built a strong relationship and fulfilling life. We try to keep an active lifestyle. We enjoy being outdoors and go to the gym regularly. Megan swam on the swim team growing up and loves being in the water. she cannot wait to teach our child to swim. We want to impress upon our child good healthy habits and physical activity.

We also have a passion for learning and creativity. We love watching documentaries, and learning new things everyday. We are excited to share our love of science and history! Tyler can not wait to teach your child all about dinosaurs. He has always had a love for them since watching Jurassic Park as a kid and had tons of paleontology books growing up. Megan has always been crafty and can not wait to make all sorts of art with your little one.

We are big movie buffs and are a bit nerdy. We love Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, and all kinds of storytelling. One of our favorite spaces is our in-home theater that Tyler built in our basement. We are avid readers and have an extensive book collection. We’ve already started collecting tons of cute books about dinosaurs and space!

Tyler loves to cook and prepares most of our meals. His favorite thing to cook is Mexican food. Nutrition is important to Tyler in his cooking and he always makes sure to include some form of vegetable in his recipes. Megan loves fresh fruit and always keeps some in the kitchen. We love good food and sharing it with family.

Family is very important to us. We are both very close with our parents and grandparents. We recently moved to a different state for work, but we see them every holiday and three to four other times a year. Everyone is super excited for us to grow our family. Megan’s sister has three boys that can not wait to have a cousin to bond with. Tyler’s parents do not have any grandchildren yet and are looking forward to meeting their first grandchild.

Time spent with your child would be a major priority for us. Our plans for child care include Megan switching to part-time and using daycare when necessary. Tyler works during the day but will be home every evening and weekend. There are many great daycare services in our area that can allow your child to play with other children and learn important social skills.

We promise to give your baby all of our love and the greatest life we can give. We will provide a stable moral foundation that they can build their life upon. We will be there for them when they need our support and give them the confidence to stand on their own. We are so excited to share our love with your child and we thank you for your selflessness.

Why We are Choosing to Adopt

We are choosing to adopt because we have always wanted to become parents. We love children and helping them to learn and grow. However, In 2012, we found out that Megan was suffering from Premature Ovarian Failure and we would be unable to have a child on our own. It was apparent to us that our life would not be complete without a child to share it with, so for us the next natural step was adoption.

About Megan, by Tyler

Megan was my high school sweetheart and is the love of my life. She is the kindest most understanding person I know. She has the patience of a saint. She is fun-loving, outgoing, and can make friends with anyone. She has a strong maternal instinct and is always looking out for others. She is extremely creative and is always coming up with new and exciting adventures for us to go on. Life is never boring with her by my side. She has been and always will be my partner in our marriage. We have an unbreakable bond that motivates me every day to be the best person I can be for her.

About Tyler, by Megan

Tyler is my best friend. He just gets me. He has a hilarious sense of humor, and he makes me laugh all day with his quick, witty humor. It is one of the things that made me fall for him. He has an excellent work ethic. I rarely have to ask him to do stuff around the house. He just does the things that need to be done. I’ve always felt like one of the luckiest women in the world because not only does he cook, he also cleans! One of my favorite things is watching him play and be silly with our nephews. I can’t imagine my life without him. He is my world.

Our Lifestyle

We both work fulfilling jobs that we enjoy greatly. Tyler has an office job where he is able to use his creativity and eye for efficiency to benefit his company. Megan works for a retail organization with strong ties to charity in the community which is very important to her.

We try to keep our out-of-work lives active. We both enjoy going on day trips, whether it be hiking and exploring local caves, or checking out the odd museum. Megan is lifelong swimming fanatic and never misses a chance to be in the water. Tyler has recently taken up golf with some friends from work and now plays regularly. We also enjoy time at home watching documentaries and movies, and spending time with our pets.

Our Pets

We currently have three pets; Ruby, our seven year old German Shepard, Our older cat Mary, who is twelve, and our younger cat Fergus, who is two. Ruby is great with kids and our nephews love playing with her. Mary is the aloof one. She is an old lady who likes to do her own thing. Fergus is the cuddly one who loves taking naps.

Our Home & Neighborhood

Our home is a newly renovated cozy little house with two stories and a furnished basement. We purchased the house, newly renovated, and have worked to make the space our own. We are excited to get a nursery ready! It is a wide-open room in the basement that would also make a great playroom. Our home has a spacious fenced back yard as well as a side and front yard. Located on a corner lot, our property also has plenty of nice wide sidewalks for breaking in those training wheels.

Our neighborhood is nice and quiet with lots of young families. We live across the street from a park, with another one just two blocks away. One thing we love about our neighborhood is how you see people out and about all the time. There is always someone walking their dog and or taking a stroll with their children.  On the fourth of July, we can see fireworks from our house. we have great neighbors and have a lot of fun with them! Our neighbor across the street always goes all out on Halloween with decorations and it is always a spectacle.

Racial & Cultural Diversity

We have always been interested in other cultures and will make sure that we raise your child with respect and love for the people they come from. We grew up in a very diverse college town. Living there, we’ve had friends of all kinds of ethnicities and diverse backgrounds. We currently live in a bigger city where there are often events celebrating and exploring different cultures. The community that we live in is very progressive and incredibly inclusive. We will do everything we can to make sure your child feels accepted. We have family friends who have adopted children outside of their race, and have been welcomed with open arms.

Our Families & Friends

Family is very important to us. Though we recently moved to a different state from them for work, we visit each other regularly and never miss the holidays. Both of our parents have been married for over 30 years and have always been our rock. Megan has an older sister and a younger brother, and Tyler has a younger brother. Megan’s older sister has three sons under the age of 6 and we love spending time with them. They come up every summer for long weekend visits. We are very close with all of our extended family as well. We go to our grandparents houses for holidays every year.

We each have several close friends from back home with whom we keep in contact with as well as some new friends we have made in our new home. Megan and her best friend often right letters to each other and visit when able. Tyler video chats with his hometown friends weekly and has a new group of friends he plays Dungeons and Dragons with as well.

Family Traditions

We are very big on holidays and our families always put on large get-togethers. Tyler’s mother always goes all out and plans fun holiday themed games for everyone to play. She also puts together a huge annual fall party for all their family and friends. Megan’s grandmother hosts holidays as well, so we can get time with both sides of  the family. On new year’s eve, at home, we try to have a movie marathon. We are a bit nerdy so it is usually something like the Star Wars Saga or the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Above all our tradition is just having some fun whenever we can.
