From Us to You

We admire your courage for saying yes to life and making an adoption plan for your baby. We wish we could offer some words of encouragement to make this time a bit lighter for you; but we know that there is nothing to take this pain away. While we cannot fathom what it must feel like to have to choose adoptive parents for your child, we can tell you that we know your child’s life has a unique purpose, and that God loves you infinitely and His divine mercy is and will always be with you. You can trust Him to lead you in taking this painful decision.

If you consider us as the adoptive parents of your baby, rest assured that he or she will be loved unconditionally and that we’ll gift him or her with our greatest treasure, our Catholic faith. Your baby will learn about God and experience His infinite love for us everyday.

He or she will be raised celebrating our Hispanic heritage, Mexican culture and will learn Spanish. We’ll also teach him or her the moral values and traditions that have always characterized Mexicans: friendly, warmhearted, hardworking individuals with an extraordinary joy for life and a service-oriented attitude. People who honor and respect their family, their culture, and share a deep love for God and Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Your baby will also be adored by our extended family, our church community and friends. We promise to share updates and photos with you so that you can be assured that your baby is so incredibly loved and cherished.

We can only imagine how incredibly painful this time is for you. We hope that thinking how God has a plan for all of us, and in His generosity, you have been blessed with a child that was always meant to be born from you, will give you strength through this painful time.

Thank you for considering us!
In Christ,
Hector, Stefany and Josefina

Our Adoption Journey (so far!)

Stefany has felt the calling to adopt since she was a little girl. After trying to conceive for 2 years without success, God planted in our hearts the desire to pursue adoption. In 2019, we started our first adoption journey and in December of 2021, Josefina was born.Josefina’s birth mom decided it was best for her not to have contact with her or us. We hope in the future she reaches out and wants to meet. We would love to stay in touch with you and share photos and letters so you can be sure your child is cherished, healthy and happy!

Our Lifestyle

Fun Facts!
*In 2021 we made a pilgrimage to Međugorje in Europe, where Virgin Mary apparitions take place.
* Hector skied for the first time on our honeymoon. Stefany challenged him to go to the peak of the mountain and ski down on his first day!
*Spicy chilaquiles is our family’s preferred breakfast meal. Josefina likes them with a lot of salsa.

What best describes our lifestyle is how much we enjoy giving back to our community. Most of our free time is spent volunteering with our friends at our parish. We are both catechists. Hector teaches adult faith formation, and Stefany helps prep children for their Holy Communion. We serve as mentors for couples going through their marriage prep, we facilitate personal finance classes, and organize events at church.

We have a healthy lifestyle. We try to meal plan and eat good food. We exercise regularly, spend time in nature and go to mass every Sunday. We enjoy reading, dining out, going to the movie theater and attending marriage enrichment programs. We travel a lot. We enjoy skiing, hiking and cycling. We spend a lot of time with our family. Either they come visit and stay with us for a few weeks, or we go to Mexico to stay with them. We also enjoy hanging out with friends and their children. We have a big Catholic community that shares our same values.

About Stefany, by Hector

When I first met Stefany, I never imagined I would get to marry her years later. When we met, she was living 450 miles away from me, so I thought a long-distance relationship wouldn’t be possible. She was everything I was looking for in a woman. We started talking through text and Facetime, and I would see her from time to time whenever she traveled to Monterrey for several of her friends’ weddings. As I got to know her, I realized that she was a person of conviction, with a lot of drive, someone who cares about others, with very clear objectives and goals for her life; a hardworking woman, funny, intelligent, and with the same values and religious background as me. That made me realize that a long-distance relationship was worth the try. Thanks to God, years later we got married. Stefany is one of those people that never leaves things undone or unresolved. I knew that she would be the kind of wife that would inspire me to become the best version of myself. We are blessed she is able to be a full time mom to Josefina!

About Hector, by Stefany

Hector is a very patient, calm, hardworking, loving, and intelligent husband. He is very easy to love because of his easygoing and service-oriented personality. One of the qualities I admire the most in him is that he is a great listener. It is very easy to talk to him and open up to him because he listens without passing judgment. But the thing that I love the most about him is that he is loyal and reliable. I can always count on him. He is very consistent with what he says and what he does. Hector is also a very loving son. He enjoys taking care of our cars and garden and working on home improvement and DIY projects.

Where we live

We are blessed to live in a beautiful gated community in Texas. What we like the most about our neighborhood is its great location! We are very close to playground areas, church and friends. A couple of our closest friends live right across the street from us which is great! Our neighbors are very diverse and multicultural and we truly enjoy this. During the weekdays we go the story time at the nearby library, we have play dates with little friends at the park, and go to toddler music class. During the weekends we go to church, eat out, visit with friends and like to go places like the kids museum. We also enjoy bike rides and walking our dog, Elvis.

Our Wonderful Families

We come from very close-knit families. Stefany’s parents have been married for 40 years. She has two younger brothers. One of Stefany’s brothers, Diego, is 15 years younger than her. When Diego was born she became his official nanny and she loved it! When Stefany, baby Diego and mom went grocery shopping, old ladies (it happened more than once) would approach her and ask if Diego was her baby.

Hector’s parents have been married for more than 42 years and counting. Hector has one younger brother, Gabriel, who’s 11 years younger than him. One of Hector’s fondest memories is when Gabriel was born.

Since both families are from Monterrey, the north part of Mexico, closest to the Mexico-Texas border, both families enjoy grilling (carne asada in Spanish) every weekend. Hector’s parents have properties outside the city and enjoy spending the weekends at their ranch houses. Stefany’s parents enjoy traveling back and forth between Monterrey and Texas, especially during Christmas season.

Special Traditions

We celebrate all the main Catholic holidays like Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas and we do so with a Mexican twist. For example in the Christmas season we celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We celebrate this very important Mexican Catholic day by attending mass, bringing roses to our Blessed Mother together with the Mariachi, praying the Rosary, and getting together with our friends to eat tamales and hot chocolate.

During Christmas we also celebrate “Las Posadas”. During this celebration we sing “El canto para pedir posada”, which is a song that tells the story about how Mary and Joseph came to the inn or “posada” where baby Jesus was born. In January, we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord by gathering with friends and breaking the “rosca de reyes” or three kings cake while singing and breaking the piñata.

Our dog Elvis

We have a rat terrier dog named Elvis. He is about to turn 12 years old and has been with Stefany since he was 6 weeks old. Elvis is a very sweet and loving dog. He loves to cuddle and get tummy rubs. He also loves to play fetch. Elvis is a certified therapy pet, which means that as a family, Stefany, Hector, and Elvis have volunteered at different assisted living facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.

Our Faith

We are cradle Catholics and are very devout in our faith. We cherish our faith immensely and like to pray and volunteer together at our church. We try to pray the Rosary every day, and we pray together every morning and evening for our intentions and to pray for others who have asked us to pray for them. We attend mass at least once during the week and every Sunday.

We enjoy hanging out with friends and their children and celebrating our Catholic and Hispanic traditions. With them, we participate in bible studies, Catholic faith programs, and Parrish-based activities. Our friends are a very important part of our lives and we truly think they make us better individuals and as a family. We have a diverse Catholic community of Americans, Colombians, Mexicans and Venezuelans.

Our Promise to You

We will raise our children in the Catholic faith, loving God, neighbor and themselves.
We will raise our children to be good and mature adults.
We will provide private education and have started to save for their college.

We thank you for considering us to be your baby’s parents. We can only imagine how painful it must be for you to go through his decision. Please trust that God has a plan for all of us, and in His generosity, you have been blessed with a child that was always meant to be born from you. You will always have a very special place in your baby’s heart. We are praying for you and will continue to pray for you for the rest of our lives. We have so much love to give and we are very enthusiastic about continuing to grow our family through adoption because we believe this is our vocation. Thank you for giving us a chance. We are looking forward to meeting you soon! We will travel the world with them and at the same time teach them the importance of volunteering, giving back to the community and being generous. Our children will grow with grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who will love them and show them what family and community love feels like.
