We are Ezra and Hailee, and we are anything but boring! We work hard as a family; we play hard and we laugh often. We are a very active family and will take on just about any challenge or adventure.
We want to start off by saying thank you for even looking at our profile. We can only imagine the pain you might be feeling right now, how much you’ve already been through to get to this point, and the road ahead of this. Know that we are forever grateful for you. Your child will know who you are and how you made the biggest decision of your life to give your baby the best life possible. Your baby will be cared for and loved by so many, including the children in our house.
Ezra came from a previous marriage with 2 kids, Liam and Evelyn. We share custody with their mom and have them 75% of the time due to our flexible schedules. We love to spend time outdoors. We like taking walks on the dike in our town, roasting marshmallows around our burn pile, eating peas out of our little garden, and going fishing with family. On rainy days we play in the mud or stay inside and snuggle!
Fun Facts about Us!
Your child will know that you loved them so much that you wanted the best life for them. They will know who they got their hair, eyes, and facial features from. We will do our best to make sure they know their adoption was a positive experience and to be proud of their mom for her amazing sacrifice. We are open to a semi-open adoption. We believe it’s important for your child to know where they come from, along with their heritage and family history. We would love to send pictures and communicate a few times a year depending on your comfort level. We can’t imagine how hard this decision is for you to make. We will love your child unconditionally.
We are very excited to be on this adoption journey and potentially make a lifelong friend. When we got together, we knew we couldn’t have kids and it has always been on our hearts to adopt. We have always talked about providing a child (or two) a safe and loving home.
Evelyn is 12 years old. She loves to play with her Squishmallows and being outdoors. She also is a huge fan of Jiu Jitsu. She can’t wait to help take care of her new sibling in any way she can. She is looking forward to carrying them in a baby carrier the most! Evelyn loves kids and friends. Her group of friends is always jumping in to help out with any younger kids even if they don’t know them. Evelyn loves music of all kinds and loves to sing.
Liam is 13 years old. He loves Legos and being outdoors. His favorite sport is Jiu Jitsu. He can’t wait to show his new sibling how to roll in Jiu Jitsu, play card games, and carry them around in a baby carrier! Liam is the most caring and compassionate little boy. He was very shy most of his life but now every time a new kid comes into the gym, Liam introduces himself and takes it upon himself to get them acclimated.
Our lives are always interesting. We homeschool both of our kids, so when it comes to day-to-day life, we keep a pretty steady schedule. But some days we take spontaneous trips to the beach, to the mountain to find snow, or just to go for a drive. We don’t take our days for granted and love to live life to the fullest capacity. That being said our lives are not all adventures. We start every day as a family and end every day as a family, no matter where we are or what we are doing. With starting and ending every day like that, we get to have open and honest communication, the good, the bad, and what we could do differently or better.
I love how Ezra interacts with not only our kiddos, but our friends’ kids. He is so gentle and caring and really knows how to soothe anyone and everyone. I envy how protective he is over his family. He works hard to provide for our family so I can be a stay-at-home mom. Ezra is an amazing dad. On our last trip, our daughter was getting tired and overwhelmed and started crying. He immediately took her into his arms, held her, and played her favorite songs until she was ready to dance and sing. Then they both danced, sang, and acted goofy. When my great-grandmother passed away, he was asked by my Nana to read a bible passage in front of my family. (My extended family isn’t small). He immediately said yes, studied what he needed to, and stood up in front of at least 50 people that had never met him (a lot of them are extended family and we haven’t had a family reunion in years). That just shows that he will step up and out of his comfort zone to be there for someone.
Hailee has a huge heart. She cares deeply about people. Hailee is a true mother by nature. I have two kids from a previous relationship. Hailee quickly bonded with them. Recently we were on a trip to Montana and the kids got a sticker for her. They add to the sticker ” thank you for being the greatest mom ever.” I think that is the testament of her love and devotion. As Hailee’s partner we laugh, and we love each other deeply we always set time aside to check in with each other and we communicate. Hailee is strong and supporting wife as well as a voice of reason when needed. Because of our love and communication, we feel safe and connected. So, on a ski trip with just the two of us I took a selfie with her while she was not expecting it, and the face she was making was less than a Kodak Moment. But through love and communication, it has become our favorite way of documenting our time as a couple and happens every outing.
We live out in the country on a couple of acres. We enjoy playing and working in the yard, having a few bonfires to burn brush, and of course, roast marshmallows! We both really enjoy our back deck the most. We sometimes have dinner out there, but also enjoy just relaxing while watching all the wildlife in our backyard. We enjoy riding motorcycles in our backyard as well. Summertime is our favorite time of year. We really love to be outside. We live near Mt. St. Helens so at least once a year we go sledding up there. We have chickens and a small garden we put in this year from different things we were able salvage and recycle. Hailee has a really neat hobby she does with her dad that is metal art. We spend a lot of time with her parents both working in the shop and fishing with her mom.
We have two dogs, a Black Lab named Henry and a Red Heeler named Ginger, a cat named Ford, and 7 chickens!
Hailee’s parents are very excited to have another grandchild and their first grandbaby. They will treat your baby like theirs. Ezra’s Mom passed when he was in his early 20’s. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends whenever we can. Ezra’s sister has adopted 4/5 of her kids and they are excited to have another cousin in the family! We have a tradition with close family friends where we float the river in canoes every year. We have game and movie nights on a bi-monthly basis and sit with them in church. They are a major part of our lives and who has helped lead us to Christ.
We will do everything we can to raise your baby as close to their racial and cultural backgrounds/traditions as possible. Extensive research, meeting other people with similar backgrounds, and making sure your baby doesn’t feel like they’re different. We love people, culture and history. Every culture has a unique and interesting history. We will support your baby’s history, culture and traditions. We live in a unique area that allows us to seek and interact with a lot of different cultures.
Easter Every year our family colors Easter eggs with Hailee’s parents, hides eggs Easter morning, and attends Easter service.
Christmas Christmas Eve we go to Hailee’s aunt’s house for dinner, then go to Christmas Eve service, then on Christmas day we open presents and snuggle all day!
First snowfall We watch the weather report every fall for the first sign of snow. As soon as there is snow on the sledding hill that is about an hour from home, we go. We’ve even gotten up in the middle of the night to see the first snow of the year. Ginger and Hailee relaxing in the hammock Our sweet dog, Henry Our cat named Ford One of our 7 chickens Liam and Evelyn building a snowman in our backyard in the winter with the help of our pups
Camping We camp somewhere every spring usually somewhere new each time so we can learn more about different areas and how people adapted to the area. Ezra has a sister that lives about 17 hours away so once a year we go see her and her family or they come and stay with us.
We would gladly adjust some of our traditions to accommodate your and your baby’s traditions! We will help your child find Easter eggs, color them, open presents, and cherish these moments with them.
We would like to thank you for even making it this far with us. We may never know who reads this or who even considers us but we want you to know, we love you. If you pick us to raise your baby, we will love them with all our hearts. Your baby will be raised with love, grace, and understanding. They will be listened to and heard. We don’t know how to express in words how much we are looking forward to providing a safe, stable, and loving family for your baby.
