From Us to You

We recognize it is strange having our first interaction with you like this. You don’t know us yet and though this profile is just a snapshot of our life, we hope it will communicate to you the kinds of people that we are and the kinds of parents we hope to be. We don’t know you yet, but we are already so grateful for you; for considering adoption and for considering us.

While we can never fully comprehend what you are experiencing, we genuinely hope that whatever you decide, it brings the relief, hope, and confidence that you’ve put your baby on a path towards a good life. Your courage and love in considering this path is deeply moving. We will always speak of you with respect, love, and gratitude to your child. You’ll be an honored part of their story and our family’s story. You are, after all, why we’ll have a family.

We want you to know that adoption has always been at the heart of our family plan. We have spent years building our life together as a couple and we are now fully ready to begin building our lives together as a family. We have been fortunate to have so many kids come into our lives and have been thrilled to witness everything from first steps to insane diaper blowouts. In our years of babysitting bootcamp, Molly has become a hide-and-seek champion and Jason has finally found a receptive audience for all his dad jokes. Your child will grow up in a home filled with laughter, music, and snuggling together for bedtime stories (Jason also does excellent voices!).

We’re excited about the possibility of connecting with you and learning about your hopes and wishes. We’re open to whatever level of relationship you’re comfortable with – whether that’s occasional updates, regular communication, or in-person visits. Whatever you decide, we admire your strength and the careful thought you’re putting into your child’s future.

Why We're Choosing to Adopt

Adoption has always been our first choice for building our family. We both feel a deep calling to provide a loving home for a child who needs one. We’ve seen the beauty of adoption through friends and family members and it has only strengthened our desire to grow our family this way. We’re incredibly excited about the adoption process and the opportunity to open our hearts and home to a child. The prospect of nurturing, guiding, and loving a little one fills us with joy and anticipation. For us, adoption isn’t a Plan B – it’s our Plan A – and we’re eagerly looking forward to the day when we can welcome your child home.

Our Lifestyle

Favorite Shared Hobbies:

  • Singing show tunes during road trips.
  • Binge-watching British crime dramas.
  • Dominating at trivia nights.
  • We like to do crossword puzzles together as a team, but are very competitive when it comes to Scrabble.
  • We also love mixing up our dinner routine by having Jason describe a meal he had once, and Molly try to recreate it from his description only.

Our home is a haven of creativity, laughter, and love. Our weekends often start with a big homemade breakfast and end with cozy movie nights. We love exploring local parks, trying new recipes together, and hosting game nights with our close-knit group of friends and their little ones. Growing up, both of us were encouraged to pursue our passions, a gift we’re excited to pass on to your child. Whether it’s Molly’s love for theater or Jason’s knack for photography, we can’t wait to nurture your child’s unique interests and talents.

Your baby’s future with us will be filled with warmth, support, and endless opportunities to grow. We envision family vacations to the beach, bedtime stories, and a home where curiosity is always encouraged. They’ll have a large extended family eager to shower them with love, including cousins close in age who are already excited about a new playmate. We’re committed to creating a nurturing environment where your child will feel safe to express themselves, ask questions, and explore the world around them. With us, they’ll learn the value of kindness, the joy of creativity, and the importance of family – both the one they’re born into and the one we’ll create together. We’re excited about the adventures, big and small, that we’ll share as a family.

Meet Molly, by Jason

The most important relationship in my life is with my wife and partner, Molly. She is my best friend. We met online and her profile suggested to me a highly metropolitan, cold-blooded Californian. It wasn’t my usual type, but I’m practical and thought it would be worth meeting up. As she bounded through the restaurant with her huge smile and a massive bag on her shoulder, I chuckled to myself how obviously wrong my expectations were. What had always struck me as the most vital quality in Molly, which clarified that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life, was her enduring and genuine goodness and warmth. It’s such a pleasure to watch her playing with all the children in our lives and thinking about how wonderful she’ll be as a mother. Our happiest times together are the quiet moments where we look over at one another and breathe a sigh of relief at how good it is to be with one another and be on this path together

Meet Jason, by Molly

When I was 14, I wrote a list of all of the things I wanted in my future boyfriend. I unearthed that list many years later while going through my old things with my family after my mom’s unexpected passing. She was always so excited for me to meet someone like my dad, who could always make her laugh. 6 months later, I met Jason and he reminded me how to laugh again. As we spent more time together, I realized how comfortable and safe I felt with him. A few years into our relationship, I came across that old list for my perfect boyfriend and realized that Jason quite literally checked all of my boxes. Our strengths and weaknesses complement each other and we share the same values and goals. I have also been so pleased to witness firsthand how wonderful he is with children. Kids love me, but they LOVE Jason. He is already the favorite uncle of so many young people in our lives and I just know he will make the best dad

Our Home

After over a decade in New York City, we decided we were ready to move and officially start building our family. We found a charming blue house in Ridgefield, Connecticut, surrounded by trees and nearby hiking trails. We picked it for its family-oriented activities, fantastic schools, and inclusive community. There is plenty to do year-round, from swimming in the town lakes or concerts in the park to winter holiday festivals downtown.

We’re also close to a family beach house and a train ride away from New York City with its museums, theaters, and everything else. Our home features a cozy living room for family movie nights, a spacious backyard for play, and a kitchen where we love to cook together. We’re eager to transform a room into a welcoming nursery and reading stories or watching rainstorms snuggled under a blanket. We’re excited to explore local playgrounds and visit the Ridgefield Library and Playhouse for story times and shows. Ridgefield offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, community connection, and cultural opportunities, and we can’t wait to raise a child in this wonderful environment.

Our Family

We are so lucky to have a network of wonderfully supportive family and friends, most of whom have young children of their own. There are a bunch of kids just waiting to welcome their new best friend into the group!

Jason: My family lives in North Texas where I (mostly) grew up. My older sister is a stylist and mom with a big personality and two spirited young boys while my younger sister is a freelance journalist and full-time nerd. My parents love their crafts (knitting and rug hooking for mom and woodwork and power tools for dad) and raised their three kids to follow their interests too (but keep a pragmatic head). We love that approach and hope to instill in your child a passion in whatever it is they love most.

Molly: My older brother and I were raised by brilliant and loving parents in Northern California before we both eventually made our way to the East Coast. My mom sadly passed away unexpectedly several years ago and while she never got to see any of her grandchildren, I know she would be thrilled about our adoption journey. Through some careful matchmaking on my part, my older brother fell in love with one of my best friends and they are now happily married living in Maryland with their 3 amazing children.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

Our hearts and home are open to a child of any race or cultural background. We believe diversity enriches our lives and community. We come from different cultures and communities ourselves and find so much joy in experiencing each other’s traditions. We’re committed to celebrating our child’s heritage and educating ourselves about their culture. We’re prepared for open conversations about race and identity and recognize the unique challenges of transracial adoption. We’ll seek out mentors and resources to ensure our child has connections to their culture (and endeavor to improve our cultural literacy as well). Most importantly, we promise to love and support our child unconditionally, celebrating all aspects of who they are.

Our Work

We have both taken some wild swings in our career paths. Molly spent over a decade managing an off-Broadway theater (when she wasn’t traveling the country performing). She left those crazy hours behind and now works for a public speaking coaching agency. After working as an attorney for over a decade, Jason was able to break out of that grind and follow his interests. Always enjoying data and problem-solving, he now works inhouse on the tech side of the corporate legal department.

Fun Traditions

We’re excited to include your child in our cherished family traditions throughout each year. We celebrate Hanukkah with Molly’s family (and sometimes Jason’s), and Christmas with Jason’s family (and sometimes Molly’s). We spend every New Year with Molly’s childhood friends at their annual bash (though a few of the newest members of the group have early bedtimes). Every 4 years, Molly’s family has a huge reunion in Pennsylvania that gets even bigger every year! We also make a point to watch Casablanca every year on Jason’s birthday and When Harry Met Sally… on Valentine’s Day. Most of all, we look forward to starting new traditions of our own with your child and ones that honor their cultural heritage.

Your child will enjoy stargazing in California with Molly’s dad, a former NASA engineer, and helping out in Jason’s dad’s wood shop in Texas. They’ll also explore Jason’s mom’s extensive library of pop-up books. We’ll plant a vegetable garden each summer so we can harvest and cook with our homegrown vegetables. Jason’s love of photography also plays a big part in our lives. He makes a point to document all of life’s best moments with our friends and family, both big and small. At the end of every year, he compiles all the best shots into photo albums for holiday gifts. We can’t wait to watch the albums grow on our shelf!

A Final Thank You!

We eagerly anticipate the milestones, messy moments, and heartwarming experiences of parenthood, ready to nurture, guide, and support your child with all our love and dedication. We can’t wait to cheer at soccer games, applaud school plays, or support whatever passion your child discovers. We plan to create family traditions, share our love of books, enjoy game nights, and encourage compassion and empathy. We want to foster a home of open communication, respect, and unconditional love. Our goal is to raise a confident, compassionate, and curious child, sharing in joys and heartaches together as a family. We aim to teach resilience and create a home where laughter is abundant, mistakes are learning opportunities, and love is always present.

Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We promise to love your child unconditionally, providing a home filled with warmth, laughter, and endless opportunities. We are committed to nurturing their talents, supporting their dreams, and honoring their adoption story and cultural heritage. We hope for an ongoing relationship with you, speaking of you with respect and gratitude, ensuring your child knows the depth of your love. Your child will be embraced by our family and friends, who eagerly await their arrival. We admire your strength and whatever you decide, we wish you the best. If you feel a connection, we would be honored to speak with you and answer any questions.
