Dear Expectant Birthmother:
Your loving and selfless act of adoption is one that we are grateful for and will be for our whole lives. The opportunity for us to have children is only possible through your courage and strength. We have so much love to share with you and your child and we cannot wait to get to know you. We hope to be able to be here through this entire process with you and support you in any way we can.
Jen is the greatest thing to ever happen to me. She is such an amazing, loving partner and has the biggest most loving heart. Ever since we met she has always found the joy in the little things. She has the greatest smile and its adorable how she snorts when she laughs too hard. She is a hard worker both on the job and at home. She has spent the last six years renovating our home to make it the most welcoming and cozy place to be. She takes pride in what she does whether its smoking salmon on the back deck or building something in the garage. She is very organized which has helped me immensely as I always struggled in this area. She works hard to make sure we are saving for retirement, handling our finances and still being able to travel and enjoy our lives. She is amazing with our nieces and nephews and shows an amazing level of patience with them. I know she will be the most amazing mother.
Amanda is my funny girl. She’s had me giggling since the moment we met. It’s an intelligent, subtle humor so she’s not hilarious, not obnoxious. She’s my rock. That statement in itself is her type of humor as she has a BS in geology. With Amanda work is work and play is play. She knows how and when to do both. She knows her sports better than most men I know. So much so that when watching sports on TV she always knows what the commentators are going to talk about and her line is always “that’s what I just said." We don’t even need the sound on! Amanda is great with the dogs, taking them hiking and always throwing the ball with them. Amanda is very loyal to her family and loves to be the one to help weather its babysitting or giving a someone a ride. She is an animal lover and would love to have a big enough space to welcome any animal in that needs a home. All in all, she has a big heart and I can’t imagine life without her.
Our home is located in a neighborhood were families walk their dogs, kids play catch in the street and it's not uncommon to have to watch out for sledding in the winter. There is a small park about a block away and a huge park with the best sledding hills about two blocks away. It’s a short drive to get to the city, but far enough away to have peace and quiet. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all upstairs, along with the master bedroom and the nursery. We have a spare bedroom downstairs along with a bonus room that acts as the playroom for our nieces and nephews.
We have an amazingly open and blended family that cannot wait to be a part of your baby’s life. We are a very close family spending birthdays and holidays together along with camping trips, and game nights. On Amanda’s side of the family there are two grandparents, two aunties and an uncle along with four cousins all living 20 minutes from our home. Grandma Sheryl and Grandpa Shawn take a special trip with the grandkids every Christmas to the North Pole to see Santa Claus and are so excited to be able to share in this tradition with another grandbaby. Jen's mother and two sisters live in the Midwest along with her two nephews and nieces. Although Jen's family lives far away, we make sure to visit as much as we can and love it when they come and visit us in Alaska. We are so excited to welcome your baby into our family and begin our own traditions.
