Dear Expectant Mother,

There is no way that we could ever even begin to understand what you are going through. What we do know is that it has taken incredible strength, courage, and love to get you where you are today. Just know that in our eyes, we will always see the most amazing woman who showed an immense amount of bravery, courage and selfless decision, one who gave us such an amazing gift that we will be eternally grateful. You will always hold a special place in all our hearts because you blessed us with something that no one else could have. After years of failed attempts, struggles and tears with not being able to conceive, we are so honored and proud that you are considering us for this opportunity to expand our family with your beautiful gift. We want you to know that your baby will be loved unconditionally, open-heartedly and in a nurturing home filled with kindness, laughter and respect. We will protect your baby with all that we have. Thank you for considering sharing your beautiful gift with us and providing a piece of our life that we so desperately have been waiting for. We are eternally grateful to you!

We have made this decision in our life to adopt due to us having four years of failed attempts at conceiving. Kelly has blessed me with two amazing step-sons, Collin and Bentley, who have been truly nothing short of a miracle. I don’t see them as my step-sons but only as my own. I came into their lives in 2012 and have been honored to watch them grow.

We have always known that we wanted a child of our own, whether that be from our own conception or another way. We knew that the odds were slim, but we didn’t let that stop us. Ultimately, in October of 2018, Kelly needed a hysterectomy which ended our path of conceiving. This was a very trying time in our marriage, yet we still knew that we were not done! We cannot see our future without having a baby of our own to raise.

Each summer, we take a family vacation. We are always looking for new adventures and are all about making memories. Whether we are vacationing in California across the street from the ocean, or traveling to the East coast for Fourth of July, we love our family vacations. Kelly is looking forward to taking care of all of the motherly nurturing things that she is so amazing at. She can’t wait for the endless outfits for all seasons of the year. We both look forward to the holidays, as we all dress up for funny Santa photos. From dressing up for Halloween as the Flintstones, Toy Story, The Incredibles, etc, we can’t wait to add our new addition into the family traditions. Matt’s looking forward to have father/child park time, jogging expeditions, cooking lessons and bedtime stories. Matt gives Bentley a piggy-back ride each night to his bed. He tells him bedtime stories and kisses him every night, and tells him how amazing he is. We look forward to going to indoor playgrounds and watching him or her interact with others their age. We look forward to watching them spend time with their grandparents, crawling on their hands and knees when Grammy and Grandpa call their name.

As we mentioned before, we can’t even begin to understand what you are experiencing. We can only attempt to put ourselves in your shoes and imagine what it must be like to be doing what you are doing. Your courageous and selfless act will always be a reminder to us that this child will always and unconditionally be loved. Your child will be raised with loving hands, gentle kisses and inspirational words to help then grow and succeed in their life. We will explain to them how they arrived in our family. We will be honest and caring when talking about how we could not have a child of our own, and how grateful we are to raise them. Your child is truly a gift and we will forever be grateful for how you blessed us with this miracle.

Q&A

Tell us about your home and neighborhood.

Our newly renovated forever home is a single story, three bedroom, two bathroom house, sitting on a third of an acre. We’ve spent the past 4 months working on it and updating it from top to bottom. Our home is unique to us and we’ll always cherish the memories as we all were hands-on with the renovation. Throughout our process we met several wonderful neighbors who did not hesitate to lend a hand when in need. Our neighborhood is active, with friendly neighbors with kids always enjoying the outdoors. We are less than a hop, skip, and jump away from the mountains, which provide paved bike paths and endless walking paths that overlook the entire valley. We love our neighborhood when going on evening or morning walks and we always wave hello as we pass by. We look forward to meeting more members of our new community as holidays approach and to decorating for each season. We can’t wait to host our holiday festivities with family and new friends and make new memories in our home.

When you have a 3 day weekend, what do you like to do?

Living in this area gives us lots of options to go away on adventures. There's a mountain about 45 minutes away where we can hike or play in the snow or go on a bike ride through the mountains. We also have a lake which is about 20 minutes away where we like to swim and have picnics.

Do you have pets? Tell us about them.

We have two cats. Both of them are declawed, sleep the majority of the day and and both love to be cuddled.

What do you hope to teach your children?

First and foremost, in a world where you can be anything, just be kind! It costs nothing to be kind and kindness goes such a long way! We want them to know that they are loved unconditionally, and to approach life with an open mind and a kind heart. To not be scared of failure and always try their best and to practice patience everywhere they go!

What will you tell your child about his or her birth mom?

We will tell him/her that regardless of how they made their way to us, that their mother loves them. That it took a lot of love and courage to carry them and help them grow and even more to make the decision that they had to make. It’s because of that immense love for them that she placed them with us. She wants you to have the very best!

Are you active in your church? Tell us about your activities.

Yes we attend a Christian church and love it. We usually go to service every Saturday night as a family, and try to volunteer for events like the kids' Christmas toy drive where we help wrap presents and collect donations and the harvest festival where there is lots of fun like bouncy houses, obstacle courses, food, games and pumpkin decorating.

How will a child enrich your life?

After trying to conceive for years unsuccessfully and eventually having to have an emergency hysterectomy last year, we just knew that our journey didn’t stop there. We have so much more love to give, and there is no greater joy in life than getting to watch our kids grow and sharing that love and bond between a parent and child. It’s a remarkable experience that words cannot even begin to describe, and we can’t wait to see our family grow even more and get to create more memories with another child. Our children are what make us the best version of ourselves!

Describe your last vacation/day trip

Our last trip was a family trip to Disneyland for two days. We love going to Disneyland, especially around the holidays. Sometimes it’s hard to tell who has more fun, the kids or the adults! We followed that with two days at the beach where we rented bikes and rode along the beach, swam, boogie boarded and played in the sand.

Will you be a stay at home parent? If so, what are your day-to-day plans?

Yes, Kelly will be a stay-at-home mom. In the beginning, there will be a lot of staying at home and bonding with our new addition. And once the baby gets a little bit older and more adapted, there will be plenty of park time, play dates, Mommy-and-Me classes, and family get togethers.

When you close your eyes and see yourself holding your precious baby in your arms what are your thoughts regarding his or her birth mother?

What an incredible gift she has given us! How incredibly brave and strong she is, and how no words could ever express our gratitude for such an amazing blessing. We can never imagine or understand what she went through, but we are incredibly honored that she trusted us!
