From Us to You

Hello! We are Carl and Brianna. We have been together for 13 years and married for 8 years. Thank you for looking at our profile. We cannot imagine how difficult a decision you are faced with making for yourself and your child. We would be honored if you considered us as a family for your child. We will love them with our whole heart and raise them knowing your incredible strength and deep love for them.

We have a six-year-old daughter who is the love of our life. We are an active and fun family, and love to take family adventures as much as possible. We recently went hiking in the Smokey Mountains and we’ve had endless water park adventures. Brianna works in a school, so our children’s education is very important. We will give our children every opportunity and allow them to explore their talents and passions.

We are very excited to grow our family and CANNOT wait to welcome a new member. Our six-year-old daughter is EXTREMELY excited to be a big sister and constantly asks when her baby sister or brother will be here. She can’t wait to cuddle and read to her baby sibling. In addition, our daughter is the only grandchild to both sets of our parents and the only niece or nephew to our three siblings. Our family is absolutely in love with our daughter and are desperate for another grandchild to spoil!

Your child’s background, culture, and story are incredibly important to us. We will work hard to ensure it is an integral part of their life and ours. We will communicate any and all information to your child that you would like shared. We would be honored to form a relationship with you in however you are most comfortable. We can’t imagine how difficult this decision is for you, but we want to encourage you to do what is best for you and to make the best choice for you. Why We're Choosing to Adopt

After giving birth to our daughter, Brianna suffered from postpartum depression that was debilitating for us both. It was an incredibly difficult time for our family, but we made it through. We have always wanted a big family and we are hoping adoption will grant us that wish. In addition, we have always wanted to adopt. We want to offer a child a good home and a life filled with love, adventures, and opportunity!

About Brianna

It is difficult to summarize Brianna in a short paragraph because she is so many things. Simply, she is the best partner anyone could ask for. She is incredibly kind and supportive. She is the most thoughtful person I have ever met and is always thinking of others. Brianna is a phenomenal teacher and parent to our daughter. She is always thinking of ways of making our lives better and richer. Additionally, she reinforces the best parts of my own personality and balances the other parts. We just celebrated 8 years of marriage and 13 years of being together; I am looking forward to many more years of adventures and misadventures.

About Carl

Carl is AMAZING! He is incredibly strong and hardworking. He is extremely dedicated to everything he does. He does nothing halfway! He is very smart, but still loves to goof around. Carl is an excellent doctor, but an even better father and husband. He makes our life so fun! He still races me to the door of any store we go to. He loves playing with our daughter, watching movies as a family, and cuddling with our dogs. Carl is an incredibly loving and supportive partner. I could not ask for a better person to spend my life with.

Our Home

Our home is located in a beautiful neighborhood in a thriving city. We live on a dead-end street that is full of nature so we get to see different types of wildlife every day. We are surrounded by woods that we love to explore with our daughter. There is also a pond behind our home that we skate on during winter and watch the tadpoles swim in during summer. There are many young children and families on our street who will make fun first friends. We have a zoo nearby that we frequent in addition to a children’s museum and a plethora of different types of restaurants.

Our Sweet Pups

We currently have a 12-year-old Italian Greyhound named Toshi. Toshi is a small dog, weighing about 13 pounds and is truly the perfect dog for kids. He has been with us since before we had our daughter and has been great with her through every tail grab and ear pull. We also have a Mastiff puppy named Nargles who loves chasing and running around with kids. Our daughter loves climbing on her and often uses her as a pillow. She is an incredibly sweet, loving, and gentle giant.

Our Families and Friends

We are extremely fortunate to have a large support group of close friends and family. We have one biological daughter who is six years old and so much fun! She breaks into dance at all times of the day. She loves to laugh and make up jokes (although they rarely make sense). She has lots of energy and she is so very loving! She CANNOT wait to be a big sister and talks about it to anyone that will listen. Our family all love children so much and can’t wait to welcome another child to our family.

Our Lifestyle

Carl works as a doctor at a local urgent care. Although Carl’s career is very important, he has chosen a work environment that provides a flexible schedule and ample home time. Brianna works as a teaching assistant at a Montessori school. She is done with work by 2pm daily and has summers off. Due to our flexible schedules, our lifestyle is full of family time, fun with friends, and family vacations. During a typical week, we love to have pizza parties and movie nights with our daughter. In the summer, we like to hike, watch soccer/football, and dance in the kitchen. Carl and our daughter love making pies together and sneaking bites of filling. Our family is especially important to us and we visit them as much as possible. We live an exciting life and love to go on new adventures together.

On a Typical 3-Day Weekend

When we have extra time, we like to visit our parents. Carl’s parents own a cabin on the river where we are happy to spend time playing with our daughter on the beach or boating down the river. When staying in town, we love to explore our community by going to farmers’ markets or exploring new restaurants. We also have a very close group of friends in here in town that we like to have over to our home for movies or game nights whenever possible. Most of our friends have children and/or babies and we love to get them all together to run around in our backyard.

Family Traditions

There are several traditions that are important to our family. We love holidays! Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter are big holidays for us and our extended families. On Thanksgiving Carl’s dad cooks an incredible turkey and Brianna makes way too many pies. Then the day after Thanksgiving, we go together with our extended family to look for a tree for Christmas. Brianna and our daughter skip through the fields until they find the perfect tree and then Carl cuts it down. Every Easter we make a HUGE mess decorating eggs and, in the morning, our daughter searches for the basket of goodies the Easter bunny hid for her.

When Carl was growing up, family was a big part of his life. Every Sunday, his aunts and uncles would come over to watch football with the family and spend time with his grandfather. This was a tradition that was very important to him growing up and we will continue to make Sunday an event and a time to gather with family and friends.

Our Vacations

We love to travel! It has always been a passion of ours. We can’t wait to bring our kids along and show them the world. We try to take at least one big trip a year. We went to Jordan last year, Spain this year, and next year we plan to go to Peru. We will enrich your child’s life in many ways, and we are excited to show your child the world.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

We believe racial and cultural diversity are very important. Where we live there are many different ethnicities and backgrounds and we were drawn to live here because of that. Honoring your child’s background, culture, and ethnicity is extremely important to us. We will work very hard to ensure these things are paramount to ours and our children’s life. It is very important to us that our children have a connection to where they came from and that it is a central part of our life.
